I have two gonis that I have not been able to get the polyps to extend. Phosphate and nitrate is on the lower side, calcium 440, alk 8.7, salinity 1.024- 1.025. I have moved them to low light and turned of the red and green lights on my Reefbreeder. The purple is around 50%. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How long have they been in, be careful with making multiple changes. It'll be impossible to tell if something is working/not working. My goni demands a red sea ab+ tribute.

Over a year. They were fine at first. I occasionally put red sea AB+ in the tank.

If they've been fine in that lighting for a year then that likely isn't the issue and you'll just make it worse since now they have to re-adjust on top of already being unhappy. Other than that has there been any big changes recently?

I was using AB+ for a while, might go back. I use AquaForest Component 3+ for Alk, Ca, Mag and some trace. Using SeaChem Reef Plus for some other trace and aminos

Mine close up I think because of all swings or my goldflake takes a bite out of them. Mine are in the bottom and goniopora Can be very temperamental. Low to medium light and not too much flow. I noticed one of mine will close up when all gets up to 9 or below 8. 8.5 seems to be the sweet spot. They need very stable conditions
