It doesn't matter much really...but if the rock is live, you need to premix the salt so the bacteria don't die. As Cory said, I wouldn't dump salt in on rock or sand.

Loaded most of the rock in. Gonna need another big piece I think. No this is not the Aquascape. That's drop the rock in cause I'm getting tired and want to go to bed.

Thanks to Rob for the infusion of saltwater to speed along the process. My brute.can is filled again so I can mix the next batch and probably almost fill it up and the sump.

I wouldnt. They can be horrible to catch....especially with rock in the way. Id start wit a fish you like and want to keep...but something relatively cheap. If you start with water from somebody's waterchange it will jumpstart cycling.

I was only kidding, and I'm fairly certain he was too.

Use black mollies. They are super hardy and can be acclimated to saltwater and are very cheap and of course they breed like rabbits so no hurting any ecosystems

Get several as some may not take to it. But most will. I would also acclimate slowly. Theres a few fish out there that can live in fresh or salt. Its something to do with their bladders. I haf a female once that popped out a buncha babbies in a 10g salt tank and they all did fine

Are you talking about the one down front? No that came in a box of dry rock I got. I'm gonna actually get a couple of Tonga pieces though.

K took out all the crappy rock. Got ripped on those off eBay. Should have gone with a more reputable dealer. Did buy a GFO reactor this morning. Dumped in some more Mysis shrimp cubes. Last night I found three hermits that are still alive after a year in a rock bath in the garage.
