Now when I said big I mean it was big for its price and compared to the deresa clams that were with it.

This just after adding so pretty closed and I don’t know how to get a good photo. So you’ll have to trust me that’s it pretty.

Adjust the white balance on your phone camera sir! Turn the camera to Manual or Pro mode and bump that white balance UP! Closer to 10,000 Kelvin is the most natural colors coming through.

Yes. It may attach itself. Crocea clams are rock boring. They use acid to dissolve rocks to attach. Pretty cool, huh?
About the only spot I could fit it.

Atleast it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb unlike my baby maxima.

As soon as that guy gets 3-400 PAR, he’ll be the easiest thing you’ll keep in that tank. My maxima gets about the same PAR, my Deresa gets around 3-350 which is almost 50-100 PAR more than they are recommended for and the two of them are 10x easier than even LPS for me.

Rubeus looking great!
You can tell his spine isn’t quite right but he’s very fat and seems happy.

Also this did not work as hoped. I hoped the fish would pick the meat off the skin as a nice treat. Instead they were terrified and then the eels had each tried to drag it into their burrows. Was quite a mess.

"Oh my Neptune! Is this what's going to happen to us!?"

"Wait, is that Frank? Is that what happened to Frank?"

"Who's Frank?"

"I don't remember Frank. But is that Frank?"

"No, no. He was from French Polynesia. It's pronounced 'fr-AHN-k'. Poseidon rest his soul."

"Wait, where is FrAHNk?"

"Oh I wish the cleaner wrasse was here. He'd know who FrAHNk was."

"Wait, was FrAHNk the cleaner wrasse?"

"Swim! Hide!"

Eels: "Hey look, it's FrAHNk!"

"Mine!"

"No, mine!"

"Always liked FrAHNk, but never as much as I do now!"

Well that went off on a tangent...

Wow
You wrote a whole narrative there. Now I’m imagining my eels as having the voice of the gulls in finding Nemo.

Had to stop myself. Started with "Is that Frank" and just kept going. In my defense, I was charged with cleaning the house and packing the van before our ski trip today...

I’ll post a video soon but it is scary how small it is. Not a grain of rice small but maybe two. Any of my fish could snap it up in a heartbeat…
