I’m gonna say purple pseudo something or was that a dottyback? anyway I got one long ago, it was sheer terror…never again

There is 2...

The Pseudochromis fridmani, is the one with the bandit stripe across the eye... its only bad to new additions.
Old additions, and its probably one of the prettiest Pseudochromis, and again if done last or right before large Tangs, its not a bad addition.

Then the real devil...
Pictichromis porphyrea... people get this thinking its the top, only to realize they got the wrong fish, and it ends up killing the entire tank.

I've heard so many horror stories about six lines

The only fish i would consider worse is the Pictichromis i mentioned above, and the Neon Dottyback.
The Neon is so pretty too, but its a total A!@#%^& compared to the Fridmani.

NO DON’T YOU DARE TAKE PUFFS NAME AND PUT IT ON THIS LIST. OR ANY PUFFS NAME! They don’t belong in reefs and I have found that is where/why people don’t like them but they were never reef-safe to begin with and shouldn’t go in a reef.

Are you trying to make friends? Or are you confused about the question and or my answer? I didn't say put one in a reef. I said I wouldn't...

Aaa see that’s the issue. The question was what you wouldn’t put in a fish tank. To be clear they belong in a fowlr tank not a reef tank. The question was not about a reef tank specifically but rather about fish tanks. I understand now. At least I get it now. But to be clear you do like pufferfish right? But would never have one in your reef tank? I thought you just didn’t like them!:pleading-face:

They are the best fish. It's not even close. To be honest if something like a solandri had 75+ gallons of reef and didn't nip SPS they would be downright perfect for a community reef. Other than that whole eating all of your snails and shrimps and crabs and whatever else there is with a crunchy shell.

But alas, they nip SPS and eat cucs

Mah...i will never buy a puffer.

Behind that cute face lies a monster of menace, and the fish is smart enough to play you like a violin.

Yup! Not reef-safe and don’t belong in one.

Bicolor dottybacks are absolute devilfish!!!

Was one of my first fish I had when i got int othe hobby, it killed all my shrimp and chased the clownfish out of the tank!!!

I'd sooner eat hot coals than have one of those again.

I am not a tang lover except maybe Hippo's. I find the rest of them boring.

And this fish. Looks a bit thin. :anguished-face:
