If I go bigger, y'all will have to help me set up. I'll need flashcards.
Should I hit the road now? Boston to TN should take me oh, 66 hours or so. Built in a “you cant get there from here” buffer :)

Jokes aside, id make the trip.

Oh and hi all!

When I had a really bad bryopsis outbreak I stocked up my CUC, added a good amount of hermits, and, the real MVPs, Emerald crabs. They munched right down on it and I haven't seen more since.

I need to order CUC. I was waiting on a few other people to put in a group order, but I'm going to just go ahead and order for myself and they can sit around all they want. My current CUC is very small and going on a year old with 3-4 astreas almost 2. I have maybe 1/4 left of what was stocked in a 35 cube. Not near enough for a 90 cube.

On the list are astreas, nassarius, nerites, blue leg hermits and emerald crabs. I would get ceriths, but the small ones like to get inside my gyre and stop the blades.

Possibly, I don't think they have astreas tho. I've always been satisfied with previous orders from them. There is one other place I looked, reef something or other, go figure it's got reef in the name and that's all I remember. Narrows it down real well.

Reeftopia.com

Took me a minute. A somewhat local recommended them.

I;d add some red leg hermits too, they may be more expensive but they're bigger and I found they ate more hair algae then the little blue legs.

I just recently had a discount code to reefcleaners in my email. You probably got it too but let me know of you want me to dig it up.

Also stick to the dwarf blue leg hermits. Ive found the other hermits i got from ReefCleaners have a taste for Acans.

I'll dig thru, but if you wouldn't mind sending it over I'd greatly appreciate it.

;Jawdrop;Jawdrop;Jawdrop not the acans!!! I'll stick with blue legs. I have a few left over from reef cleaners' assorted hermits, but they are all small like the blue legs.

I'm with you. The only hermits in my tank are the blue legs.

Not sure if you saw this or not, but Underwater Creations is developing a reef safe treatment for AEFW that also seems to be effective at getting rid of NEM's.

NEMs or MENs?

The original plan was monti fallow for 4 months. I may give it a try, I saw they had an AEFW treatment in the works, but didn't know it worked on MENs too.

I got all 3 letters correct, that isn't too bad, right?:confused:

I don't think they realized it worked on MENs until they started getting feedback from the trial group they sent samples out to.

I sure hope they haven't found a cure for MEN :);Woot;Happy Our female audience is already lined up outside Underwater Creations.....Kiddding, Kidding of course!!! I was stumbling on the acronyms though and thought for a second someone found a cure for Aiptasia until Monti Eating Nudibranch's finally clicked.

I'd be pretty awesome if there were Nudi Eating Montis out there... huh @Brew12?

Cure for aipys? Bucket of kalk, just dump it in the top of your display. The whole thing. By the next morning all signs of aiptasia should be gone. (Disclaimer, this will kill every living thing in your tank d-e-d dead) I am vehement about checking for them before putting any frag near my tank.

Evidently not so much with MENs and bryopsis...

UWC has documented results with AEFW and some results with MEN. I'm excited for this product as my tank is now very much an acro dominant system (With no major bugs knocks a tree over).

As for Bryopsis, fluconazole works extremely well. I noticed my case of bryopsis early and resolve the problem in 14 days. Haven't seen it since.

Edit - Now for @UWC to create a reef safe dosing solution to kill ICH. PLEASE!

Yeah it's over today. I'm probably not going to introduce the fish back till this Saturday though. One, because I want to err on the side of caution. Second, I want to properly record adding them back in :D

I was super nervous about it and even waited 100 days - partly due to paranoia but mainly the fish in QT were not quite ready.
