With them breeding in the saltwater that means those little guys will fully acclimated. You now have food for Maui.

I'm not so sure Maui went fish eater. That one male I put in there with him is still kicking and munching down on algae. The current kicked its butt for the first few days coming from the relatively stagnant fresh water tanks at the pet shop... he has adjusted now, knows all the best sleeping spots and can fight the current to pick algae off rocks.

If anyone has a frag tank and is looking into a cheap cuc... get mollies. They eat algae all day, and from the 10g experiment on the counter, they don't mess with chaeto and will breed in salt too.

The damsel went in after they all disappeared... maybe the metals killed the more sensitive fish, maybe they went inside the rocks and bacteria got rid of the bodies, maybe it really was Maui and he doesn't like the taste of mollies.

It's kind of like the turtle and the tootsie roll pop. The world may never know. (I'm not that old, that turtle is all wrinkly... and I'm a sea turtle)

Now that’s funny. What in the world made you think of that?!

Oh, um... my nickname is Turtle, I was a kid when that commercial was still on TV, my mind makes very odd connections that other people's don't. I've known for a long time my circuit board was wired different. Lol.

I got the itch for a new tank build last night... I won't do it right now, because that's crazy, but here goes my idea...

So, I want to replace the Deep Blue with a 120g sized tank eventually. Whether it be that Elos 120XL or a rimless standard 120g, or some kind of Red Sea Reefer series tank in that size... Long term goals. The Deep Blue is a nice little setup, but limited on space for a full on reef. I thought about putting a pair of cinnamon clowns and a couple anemones in there. Maybe some bubble tips, long tentacle and sebae anemones. Something easy to take care of. No need to dose or have crazy equipment. It could be a nice bedroom tank.

Just brainstorming here, long term thoughts. For now, we are in full on fix this tank and grow some SPS mode. Time to get this ugly duckling thru reef tank puberty.
