but I think all the problems started with dry rock and shiny black glass. Lack of biodiversity in the tank.

One of my all-time favorite movies. You know they filmed parts of that movie in Savannah, GA(one of the few cities I can stand, and actually love) and in SC. Can't remember exactly where. The park bench scene was in Savannah. The actual movie prop bench is in one of the tourist centers, and they charge you to sit on it and get your picture taken... I looked at it, then spent my money at one of the many bars in the city. (Open containers allowed in historic district. WOO HOO day drinking in public!) The shrimp boat scenes were in SC, Beaufort I believe... could be wrong. After all, "I'm not a smart man."

Lack of biodiversity played a roll, but I'm willing to bet two exhausted DI canisters are playing a bigger roll right now.

The cyphastrea I have is doing well. I haven't seen any growth yet, but it's been what, a week? Well, maybe a tiny bit of growth... Nice PE tho and the color is coming back. It never was a Bizarro tho...

The old stuff, yeah its pretty brown. It's the BRS color changing. I think it's supposed to be blue? It's been so long I can't really remember what color or was.

Question for you about RO/DI filters. I just replaced all my filters as I exhausted my DI last time I used it. While I was at it I changed the 1 micron sediment and the carbon block as they are about a year old. I started it back up flushing the membrane, I watched the TDS meter after it, go down till about 5 then I turn it off and let it go to DI. Wait about 2 minutes and the TDS meter is now reading 000 after membrane and even before DI ! !

Will this extend the life of the DI? Usually after membrane I was getting 3-4 TDS and 0 after DI.

I tried playing that last night and got absolutely nowhere. Couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do or how to do it.

I may do that later. I have to clean the garage first. And my tank is neglected. My Bryopsis is dying off fast and I haven't been manually removing it so some dark green cyanobacteria is growing over it.

Garage clean = happy wife
Tank clean = happy fish/coral.
Then gaming = happy dad.

The priorities of adulthood.
