Welcome aboard the crazy train! I'll post some pics later. Tied up trying to get everything wired back up at the moment. Beautiful work though!
But he DOES emoji Miss.I DON'T EVER MIS-EMOJI.
Ohhhh boy, here we go!
A little late to this thread but I gotta say that Orange is poppin’ man! This has now become my DIY guide on how to refinish the stand for my 120 gal cuz I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to use spray paint or brush the paint on. I really hate seeing brush strokes so I think I’m gonna go with the krylon like you did. What brand of marine grade paint did you use for the inside?Alright. Now that the inside was finished, it was time to move to the exterior. My color schemes are as follows: Orange for the exterior of the stand and canopy, and blue and white for under the hood (sump, filtration, etc). By the time this thread is done, you'll either appreciate my OCD, or be completely disgusted by it. hahaha. Here are some pics of the painting and finishing of the stand:
Thanks, dude. I appreciate the feedback. Welcome aboard the crazy train! I believe it was Topside by Rustoleum. If you wanted to paint the stand with regular paint, you can get cabinet rollers. They leave a really smooth finish, too.A little late to this thread but I gotta say that Orange is poppin’ man! Thanks bro! Good lookin out, I wasn’t sure if there were rollers that could accomplish a smooth finish or not. I will def go with that Rustoleum. I can only hope that I will achieve some aesthetics similar to yoursThanks, dude. I appreciate the feedback. Welcome aboard the crazy train! I believe it was Topside by Rustoleum. You can ask at the paint counter at either Home Depot or Lowes (or similar store if you don't have one of those near you). They'll get you pointed in the right direction. If doing it that way, I reccomend a chalk paint, and then a clear coat to seal it. You'll get a really nice finish. In the long run, it'll be less expensive than spraying it.Thanks bro! The cabinet rollers? Purple. Well, purple are usually the higher quality. The white ones work too. Just don't use foam. It's the purple ones, right? Or is it the white ones?
