I had to drive the inlaws to the airport earlier and stopped off at a local shop on my way home where I scored a nice elegance coral. It's acclimated and in the tank but mostly closed up, so pics will wait until tomorrow.
One of my favorites and top of the list when I get a bigger tank. Looking forward to pics.

Good morning, Heathen! Been up since 0530 and have been super productive this morning. Just stretched out to read for a bit and take a nap with Johann.

Hey, last week I was training out in Gilbert and stopped in to Aquarium Arts. They had 6 or 7 healthy looking Copperbands. I almost bought one and am kicking myself now. I remember you had looked at them a little bit ago.

:grimacing-face: Been up since 4 am and wanted to sleep in but had to work today.. Sleeping better now that I am ramping up the exercise again.

Yeah... I just got Exospheres so that's kind of a concern for me as well. My first "expensive" coral.
That's my biggest reservation at this point. I don't want it decimating my zoas...

Good morning, Heathens and Happy Tuesday!

I'm really starting to feel like my (ab)normal self again- better mood, more energy, less brain fog, and my sleep schedule is getting back on track. For awhile there, I was starting to think that I was gonna wind up getting "long-Covid". That really knocked the wind out of my sails for a bit there. I'm still not 100%, but like a solid 90, and I'll take that all day long!

Some tank updates:

Samwise Gemgee (aka "Freckles") was showing some signs of HLLE, but all seems to be resolved. Now that he is used to the flow and lighting in the tank, he is venturing out more and swimming with his cohort.

The two engineer gobies that hated each other, and initially lived in burrows at opposite ends of the tank, have resolved their differences and moved in together. I swear, you can almost see them grow in real time. They're about 10 - 11" long now!

We have four deliveries coming this week, with the first two (from @Williamson’s Reef and @Battlecorals ) arriving today! I'm super stoked! After a number of setbacks, the tank is really filling out and looking great!

In the past, I talked about ordering a box lot of acros from a wholesaler, but I'm gonna hold off on that until I have the fish room completed downstairs. While it is definitely more $$ to fill it the way I'm doing now, I can control for the placement of color and growth pattern. Something I cannot do with what I'm sent in a box lot. Plus, there is something inherently satisfying about watching colonies grow from frags.

I'm going to hold off on the CBB for another week or two. I may have to head out to Delaware for a couple of days in the near future, and want to make sure that I'm home for the acclimation.

Anyways, that's enough for now. Don't want a lengthy post to tick off the TLDR crowd. Stay tuned for coral pics later and be sure to have an awesome day on purpose!

Namaste.

Did I win at least a nubbin of something after growout for getting both names chosen as winners? Just the tip works for me ;)
