An unnamed acro colony I picked up the other day alongside the blue digi. Very fraggable... ;)

Good morning, Team and happy NYE.

Day 4, and Wrasseputin has still not emerged from the sandbed. At least not that I've seen. Admittedly, I have not been glued to the tank. So, it is possible that he came out, got spooked, and went back in hiding; but, my concern grows.

One of my female Anthias has begun transitioning. Looks like she wants to challenge Iceberg Slim. Two males = bad juju. Maybe @Mschmidt would like another fish...?

I'm listening...

Well, I don't want two male lyretails fighting to the death in my tank. So, if you have room and would like one, I could toss in a frag or two to keep it company on the ride back to Bmore.

I've got room for a lyretail and a couple of frags. Might have more I can pull from my tank too.
We can figure out a day and time. There is a club meeting January 27th that I'll probably be at if all else fails.
Cool, cool. I don't foresee any rush. I just ordered a new batch of purple plugs that should be here on Tuesday. I'll cut a few frags and give them some time to heal.

In the meantime, was that an invite to your club meeting / frag swap? <hint><hint>

WAMAS meets on Feb 10th, if you'd like to tag along to mine.

This morning's #'s:

NO3: 11
PO4: 0.12
Dkh: 11.3
Ca: 480
Mg: 1410

Nitrates Seem to be holding in the 9-12 range, and Phos is coming down. I am passively running a small bag of Aluminum Oxide (PhosGuard) in the sump.

Alkalinity holding steady around 11 +/- 0.4. Though, my ph is struggling to stay above 8.1, dropping as low as 7.75 over night despite running a CO2 scrubber. A reverse light cycle on the display fuge is out of the question, as is increasing my Kalk dosage (already fully saturated @ 12.8 and all ato runs through the Nielsen reactor) so I am going to start buffering my make up water and continue to monitor. I'm not chasing numbers here, just really prefer an average ph of >8.1 instead of 7.9.

In other NSFW news, I ordered a new hoodie last night:

Don't put yourself out in any way. We meet quarterly. TBH, this will be my first meeting in a few years. Something always comes up on my end, so I'm like a ghost. lol

Leopards can stay a long time in the sand, sometimes weeks, and if it's a recent import it could have jet lag. If you have pods in the tank it will probably find a safe time to come out hunting.

Oh yeah, I have tons of amphipods and copepods. I breed them. Otherwise I wouldn't have leopards. ;) Tha ks for the reassurance, though. I needed to hear that from someone other than my internal monologue.

I have no idea about my February schedule. I'm supposed to work the 27th but have the club meeting and a cook-off at church that id like to be at. That's the problem with picking work days in October for January, then leaving for two months.

Listen up, Heathens!!

This your annual NYE safety brief...

When in the field, stay away from the wildlife. This includes that cougar at the end of the bar.

You have ten fingers spread across two hands. Be careful with fireworks! You don't want to be using one hand to collect a spread of fingers.

Your respective livers and kidneys will be pulling overtime tonight. Have a glass of water after every couple of drinks. You'll want them to show up for work tomorrow.

Don't drive others to drink and above all else, for the love of God, don't drink and drive. Seriously, don't be that guy / gal. At the very least, your fish need you to come home alive.

Have a safe and enjoyable New Year's, Heathens!

Namaste
