hey Styx...so gald to be able to read and see what your doing while I have my coffee...My 300 sump has been growing. Got rid of the old 60inch and converted my old 140 acylic into the new sump and design...The old 140 was about 20 years old and so I need more sump room so saved cash and used it for the new sump. My old sump I made was 1/4 inch thick, never again use 1/4. making sumps now for people with 1/2 inch as minimum. at the prsent time shopping for a bigger skimmer. looking at reef octopus regal300sss or sro6000. My current reef octopus 200int is too small for the 300 with all these tangs since they got big, so gonna use the 200int for the ozone and bio pellet water discharge.. Any thoughts on a big skimmer for my 300, I am looking for it to handle 300 super heavy load,,,,

Good morning, bud! I switched up my skimmer about 6 months ago or so and went with a Great White series by Dalua. I couldn't be happier with the performance and reliability. I run the GW-17, but for a heavily stocked 300, I would likely look into the GW-22.

Good Morning Team Styx.

Morning observations:

All fish remain symptom free, and the engineers actually look slightly better (maybe?). Everyone is eating like the little piggies they are.

Lady Chanel is happy, active, and absolutely fearless. She's so cute and tiny (<2") I'm in love!!

Sadly, the harlequin shrimp did not make it through the night. I found half of it stuck to a powerhead this morning. Unfortunately it did not look like molt, but rather the result of predation. I'm going to assume it was the flame cardinal. That fish's days are numbered.

The nem is looking okay this morning. Not great, but okay. It is partially inflated and its mouth is fully and tightly closed. So, I'm torn here. Do I transfer it to the hospital tank and begin treatment for a Vibrio infection, or do I continue to monitor? If I wait, will it be too late? If I move it, will the additional stress push it over the edge? Anyone have thoughts here?

Glad to hear everyone is seeming good still!

Sorry about the Shrimper...

No thoughts on Nems. I know they inflate and deflate frequently after arriving trying to equalize to their new environment or something, but I'm not sure how long that typically takes.

Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant to move it right now. Especially since it is keeping it's mouth closed tightly. At the moment it is pretty open, though not fully extended or inflated. It's only day four, so I think this is normal acclimation (?). Having no experience with this species, I can only go off of what I've been reading. I will note, though, that it isn't balling up at night like it's suppossed to. Also, I can't get a good look at its pedal disc right now, but it hasn't looked like it has gripped firmly to the rock. Only partially as it rests in it's crevice. I'm going to keep monitoring it for now, and see how it looks throughout the day.

Feeding response this evening! It caught food for the first time. I'd say this is a good sign.

How are you styx...???? so glad your back chatting with us...
I'm doing well. I had some struggles with my mental health over the summer, but I'm in a better place now. Still getting caught up on stuff, so I'm still not too active, but I'm glad to be back, too! I've missed you misfits.

A healthy mix of the two! However, I will now default back to the normal vernacular, you heathen.
