build it yourself!
A lot of the times the off the self stuff is expensive garbage that you can easily replicate for yourself with customizations that fit your needs.

Find someone trust and aspire to in the hobby. Follow their guidance and wisdom. Don't get trapped in the multifaceted array of information. Mixed information isn't always good information.

Start with the biggest tank you can.
Buy the best equipment you can afford.
Get some type of controller Apex, Hydros will make life so more relaxing.

Go a size bigger if you can and sometimes it is better to spend a little more on the better quality stuffs.

Mostly by coral needs then by mine.

Plan it out to be able to be left alone for 2 weeks minimum.

Using BRS par guides from AI Prime placement video. And watching to see if he's happy or sad then moving.

Research before buying. Have backups. Consider placements and how you want to operate your tank.

Build in redundancy. Never want a heater to go crazy or stop and have no backup that kicks on. I run a Helio heater set to 78, and if the temp drops to 76, then the inkbird kicks on and activates a Finnex titanium heater to bring the temp up, assuming the Helio is failing.

If you ask a question getting two totally conflicting responses in reef community, that's normal.

When buying equipment think long term goal, you will likely want a bigger tank down the road. Think dual use.

Definitely get the best you can afford. Don't go for expensive, go for reliability.

Automation is a double edge sword; it can help mitigate LARS but it can also cause the tank to get away from you.
