3 kids, 4 cats, dog, adult daughter, and me. Other seasons I can open windows, I can keep it around 500 sometimes 1000ppm if it's too cold. Summer it's 1500-2000ppm or higher.

I picked up a Scopas and a sea hare the other day. I'll be returning the sea hare once the issue subsides. Just wanted to see if it makes a difference.
I strongly recommend increasing ventilation. The impact of 400ppm is pretty significant considering the limited range of pH these reeftanks run at, and further limited optimal range. Something in the ballpark of .08pH IIRC. You can plug it into the calculator to find out.

Theres alot of health benefits that come with it, obviously the reef takes priority :D

I second the salifert test kit, has always been spot on with ATI ICP, all my hanna stuff is paper weights on the shelf besides nitrite and phosphate.

If I could open a window I would...lol

Yes the pH has been running a few points lower too.

It's just too hot and humid outside for any type of air exchange.

Other option, throw the kids outside. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Whole home dehumidifiers are not that expensive and fairly simple to install depending on your existing HVAC. Still a few thousand but the santafe's come with fresh air intake. Your house will feel cooler and allow you to run the AC up. A degree or two to compensate for added electricity.

@VintageReefer is this an ongoing crash right now or did i miss the context???

Prior crash, followed by 1.5 yr fallow period - with one fish and minimal attention. Decided whatever survives, survives. Had a kid, switched careers. Had to put tank on the back burner.

Photo is from the day I pulled up my bootstraps and decided I’m ready to rebuild.

That’s what survived the crash and 1.5 yr neglect period. And surprisingly this one sps never cared. I don’t even know what it is but it’s nuke proof

This pic is from approx 2 years ago when I started my rebuild. Slow grower for sure but super durable
