So... What are the highlights? I'm literally cleaning my second tank and doing all the planning and equipment gathering now.
Start with some good live rock. Everything will be fine..lol. it's such a pain and a ton of time to get dry rock to the point that where mine is now. If not all live rock then get a good percentage of it.

I am terrified of hitchhikers.

I have a bunch of dry rock curing in a brute with all sorts of bottled bacteria now.

I have a gift card slated for Australian live rock that I was planning to dark cure in the same brute after a high salinity dip...

But nearly every hitchhiker could be on a frag too.

I'm all for live rock, I think the positives outweigh the cons. The majority of the time there are no bad hitchhikers. Just the negatives scream louder than the boring positives.

Same fear everyone has...wasted thoughts imo. Eventually you're gonna get hitchhikers in the tank of some shape, form or fashion. Just high salinity dip and put it in a 20 gallon tank or whatever and watch it for a week or two. I mainly did dry for the scape which Eventually becomes kind of irrelevant when coral takes over. @Baby_Shark just got some kp premium rock that looked fantastic.

I’ve only used live rock but this was a long time ago. For my new build. Perfect comprise. The look and pore benefits of old school pukani and Fiji rock, but the sterility of dry rock

It's better than marco rock but it's still dry rock.

The point of live rock can't be provided from a bottle off the shelf.

Good morning all!

How should I separate my roller mat and skimmer from what I'd like to be a small fuge area? This is the sump for a Waterbox FRAG 105.4 the I removed the sock holders from, dimensions are 28.3"×17.7"×15.

Top left is for the return pump, top right is an ATO reservoir.

I'd like some rubble or biomedia and chaeto for nutrient export.
