Ever drill a tank that's being used?

I Have! :zany-face:

Given, it's only a 45gal frag tank,
48 x 18 x 12 that has access to the back of the tank.

Pretty much threw the tank up out of necessity of overgrowth and finding @SBB Corals last year to overfeed my addiction. Thanks Shane!!!? :face-with-spiral-eyes::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Been wanting to change the drain on this tank for awhile as I've had anything from algae, snails, etc start to clog the simple drain screen set-up I had, to where I was worried of possible flooding.

BRS had a decent deal in clearance or open box on...

Moved some frag racks to the front pane of another tank, drained below the existing drain hole. Had to trim part of the plastic rim.

Did some Polish engineering with duct tape to make a water reservoir to cool the bit and taped the inside to keep junk off the corals.

Voilà, a working external overflow box. Don't have to worry about possible lack of drainage anymore.

Not the greatest pics, I know. I'm terrible at documenting as I do builds!

Unboxing video of @SBB Corals and in the tank. They really colored up nice day 2. Btw this is my first ever unboxing video, so it clearly is not the best, but my daughter and her cow bear loved it. Also don't know how to combine the 2 videos yet.

Omg what a day. Awesome meeting @banik . Good lunch , good beer , and good subjects to discuss. Just getting home now.

Aaannd just sitting down to look at my phone. Trunk or treat, the rest of dinner, kid bed time, then make more water and moving all my cycling rock to a larger brute to accommodate the great rock I got from @robanister and some shrooms, of course (no pic lights are off)!

I had a blast having lunch. I was able to take a couple hours in the middle of my work day to meet up, chat, eat, and drink.

I followed that by going to an awesome grocery store in the same town, sort of like an H-mart, to get ingredients for my first batch of homemade tank food - krill, oyster, clam, mussels, shrimp, squid, fish roe, and some mackerel. I'll add some selcon, freeze-dried mysis, and maybe some nori.

In any case, community is my favorite part of any hobby.

We were chatting, I have this two tone blue shroom, anybody know what it is?
