Up close of green spots

I am no expert but they look like standard orange discosoma mushrooms. Probably 10 each on a full rock or maybe $20 individual on a frag plug. Did you buy them as a specialty named morph? I guess you could call it whatever you want and it will be worth whatever someone want to pay.

Still need a lift or slide idea
on the top? or on the back? Theres tons of options out there. As for the brackets, i'd be wary, while they will hold up with the tank, i'm not sure if they're rated for salt water exposure.... As for painting it I dont think that would be a solid solution as well. it'd be something i'd be wary of.

Galvanized steel is water-resistant, but it does not hold up well under salt water. When compared to stainless steel, it's easier to work with and much less expensive. For many construction applications, galvanized steel is a trusted, economical choice, as long as it won't be in contact with salt water.

Either way, not a gamble I would take. How handy are you, what tools do you have at your disposal.

Yep that's the plan keep those hands out lol. Yes work in progress. All those things are great ideas. I would like it to just lift upward with light inside but if to much then no. I find things that go down with struts just not up it seams.

Galvanized brackets and screws. Common board I believe. I bought so long ago.

Get some of the white flex seal and coat the inside. Help prevent mold or wood rot and seal over that zinc.

I have a hood on one of my freshwater tank. It's painted and I have to wipe it clean all the time.

I used flex seal in the bottom of my stand to help contain the occasional oopsie mess.

While you could proper joinery or even nail gunning it would be more appropriate if we’re being honest.

Yikes. Maybe I went a bit too heavy handed. Better than 6 though. Guess I’m keeping an eye on it till it drops so I can find that stabilizing level.

Also there’s actual mold resistant paints out there that I’d recommend to seal the inside. Commonly found at Home Depot aka home dopey.

Yeaaahhh. I panic dosed because it was low and my torches were starting to retract. It’ll drop fairly quickly if the trend continues. Be 9ish in 5-6 days or less. Cool thing is I’m actually seeing some coralline algae growth which is cool!

But is it reef safe? Could be toxic like the silicone. I realize it won't be submerged but the possibility of condensation on it and dripping into the tank.

Flex seal is supposed to be safe.

There are basement rated paints that wouldn’t have that issue of condensation and leeching. If you want nuclear bomb proof Hydroseal 75. That stuff. Woo. That won’t leech as it’s epoxy based. If you find epoxy based paints you’re safe.

Didn't you just spend $1000s on mushrooms in the last week? Why not spend the money and do a quality fit so your wife doesn't say it looks cheap and gives you grief about it.
Lmk what you decide, may be willing to make a deal. Those would look pretty good in the 450, red would be a good addition to all the green and orange I have for now.

Either way. If you decide to upgrade that box and take the steel off (I recommend it) Home Depot often runs an air compressor nail gun combo kit for sale around $100. It typically comes with a tack nail gun which would hold the box together well enough. I’d honestly explore that.
