Hey all you reefer geekers. Wha’s happening? Guess I’ve missed the last 4 or 5 sales. Not a problem. I don’t have a tank anymore. Would have to put my haul in a Tupperware tub on the kitchen counter with a flashlight shinning on it. Hope all is well with everyone. I’ve been traveling a lot and trying to keep up with my almost one year old grandbaby. She can out crawl me now, but I can stand up unassisted longer than she can. Haha! At least for now. Can’t say I’m a reef keeper anymore, so now it’s “Jetson’s my name and Bonsai’s are my game”. They don’t care if I leave for two weeks or more. Sprinkler system and sunlight takes care of them just fine.

Everything I had sold quick, so got out a lot quicker than I got in. Didn’t sell anything on reef2reef, but FB Market was amazing. Stuff was flying off the shelf. Guess I had the prices right. Only thing left is the 4 Radion XR30’s. Probably throw them up for grabs next week.

Hope you guys are all doing well and keeping the hobby going. I do miss having a tank, but I enjoy the traveling a lot now.

If I break open a rock that’s been in my sump since the beginning of time - say 4 yrs- will it be white in the center?

100% but the outer layer has so much patina that you’ll see slight penetration. I will add though if real ocean rock I say no. I used some old pieces of dried out Marshall island on my last build and it was grey/off white inside.

Why wouldn't be? I mean really things only grow on the outside. If you've gotten any ocean rock, you'll notice there are white brocken spots.

Do you feel this is better for the tank? I’m willing to change the schedule just curious if you noticed a difference. I did set it up to dose 4 times a day (starting today)

Too soon to tell in this tank however I believe in constant consistency if you have SPS..Looking at my log it seems to be keeping me at a constant 8.8-9

Also. Need an opinion. To help my torches get a little less flow I threw this here. How we feeling about my rockwork. I like it but keep feeling like I’m always making small tweaks.

Oh. I just went to pure whites. Man I didn’t realize how ugly it was right now.

I have a lot of GHA as well. I pulled some off and feel like im always putting my hand in tank!

Evening everyone! Spent a while catching up on this thread:

1. It took my tank almost 16 months to get past the ugly stage, but it’s looking great now. I also have 6 urchins, a tang, a fox face, and about 200 snails. I feed heavy and let them eat the algae.

2. The Joker Coral peach grail torch might be the most beautiful torch I’ve ever seen. I may have to catch his next batch… I hope he gets more.

3. 65 hours until my SBB order arrives!
