Its also very forgiving. If you accidently dose an extra 1000mL in a 90 gal plus youre not gonna nuke anything. The only real downside is space.

Alot of people dont have space for a kalk container, reactors/stirrers arent cheap, and the ATO method is inconsistent both in evap and in a busy reef if ya pop a gallon out for fraggin or whatever else you could dose alot of alk via ato if youre not paying attention.

$30 on mrs wages pickling lime is a good couple years of calcium and alkalinity that mixes up in a couple minutes.

The amount of kalk I would have to dose is rediculous..lol. with carbonate and chloride it's once a month.

Well you eventually hit the wall. But it takes a while for the avg tank to hit that evap limit, and at that point you need to consider replenishing more than alk and ca so its either 2 part, AFR, balling, RM, etc.
