You’re going to have to let me get the new tank up and running. I’ve got 20lb of Marcos maricultured live rock in it currently and and waiting for another 30 coming from KP and TBS on 9/9. But after that everything will be ready for the new and clown tank.
How are you weighing the benefits of live rock versus the likelihood of pests? I'm deciding what rock to use in my new tank and am wrestling with this choice now.

Go live rock. You'll inevitably get unwanted pests at some point even with dry rock and then the point is moot. Thr benefits far outweigh the cons

Yeah theres still alot of stuff, but id say at least 70% of the acros are wiped and i wouldnt be suprised to see 100%. The torches, zoas, montis look alright as of now. Hammer might be a bit ticked but ive seen worse.

Whats interesting is i chizzled some rocks apart that had montis and acro bases after 5pm today. Keep in mind a ton of acros melted before getting near my water this AM, the containers we packed them in were milky.

Then, things continued downhill in my main systems water from WC, 10am-ish and all day after in my frag system which is entirely independent. Those bases left in water on liverock in the coolers still had color at 5pm. Just checked on them now, all melted.

Im going to let this stuff run its course but im tempted to put one of my valida frags in there tmrw just to see how fast it melts. If its within 24hrs it has to be bacterial.

Ive kept things separated, tools and equipment, but the due dilligence i applied to that was on the basis of flatworms, not disease. Kinda sketched out lol (nervouslaughter).

Now i kind of need to know, to determine what to do next with this entire frag system. Like do i gota nuke it and start from scratch...
Got amoxacillin @Thuan overnight

I do what @billyocean tells me. He’s the group shaman. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
Not always. Don't mount to the base rock use as much removable rock as possible with your acroa on it incase aefw or something happens. I used these and tiles to save me. Once treated nothing will go in that tank again.
