How do you measure flow throughout the tank? String on a stick, or is there a good way to measure it?I Always think that too. I have noticed there's an area with less flow in my tank that I need to add another pump to.

I just test my ph and it's 8.15How's your PH, speciosa are SUPER SENSITIVE to it
my tank is 65g. I run a gyre on one end (only at 30% and a jebao slw30 on the other. Plenty of flowI Always think that too. I have noticed there's an area with less flow in my tank that I need to add another pump to.
How much it moves my polyps..lol. corals have a "I don't know what it's called" field around them that you have to break through with flow. It takes more than you think. There's one spot where I have PE and polyp movement but it's a good bit less than the rest of my tank. I've come to the conclusion that acros don't thrive there as much..par is fine. I want indirect heavy indirect flow to keep those things clean and particulates constantly being imported/exported. IMO the more pumps the better within reason..you can always dial it down. I find most people lack heavy/random indirect flow and usually have one or the other or not enoughHow do you measure flow throughout the tank? String on a stick, or is there a good way to measure it?
How were things after being out for the 7-10 days or whatever it was? Is this when you got a swing?Yeah...I thought I would lose some after my alk swing but I guess it was spaced out enough to be ok.
Yeah...it dropped about .2 per day as my gorilla math figures..to 6.9. Raised it up to 8 over the next few days but i raised to 7.5 the same day accidently but Fortunately no harm that I've seenHow were things after being out for the 7-10 days or whatever it was? Is this when you got a swing?
Why do you think it dropped so much?Yeah...it dropped about .2 per day as my gorilla math figures..to 6.9. Raised it up to 8 over the next few days bilutnraised to 7.5 the same day accidently but Fortunately no harm that I've seen
Because when I went out of town and there were no people or animals in the houseWhy do you think it dropped so much?
I was going to say that, but didn't because I thought you already had good PH. Apparently there was still more room for improvement.Because when I went out of town and there were no people or animals in the house
Now I kind of want to get my ALK close to 9 before my upcoming vacation.Because when I went out of town and there were no people or animals in the house
I left on the 11th. So it started eating more around the 12th but 13th for sureNow I kind of want to get my ALK close to 9 before my upcoming vacation.
How many days were you gone?I left on the 11th. So it started eating more around the 12th but 13th for sure
I’ll come breathe near your tank for a few days if you need me to.I left on the 11th. So it started eating more around the 12th but 13th for sure
Sunday to saturdayHow many days were you gone?
just make sure you hang your lights high enough to where I can’t touch them.I’ll come breathe near your tank for a few days if you need me to.
Ah so! I guess I actually do the same thing, but with a black light at night. All the polyps are extended and fluoresce making it easier to see their random movement. How much it moves my polyps..lol. corals have a "I don't know what it's called" field around them that you have to break through with flow. You don't have to touch my lights...they turn on...they turn off. No idea how they grow coral like that.just make sure you hang your lights high enough to where I can’t touch them.
Crazy how much PH really does play a role in growth. Many years ago I had a very nice SPS tank with colonies grown from frags and I used the best Apex controller available with all the probes.Sunday to saturday
Yeah I just have a tendency to…do stupid things with lights like drop them in water or almost set desks on fire. You don't have to touch my lights...they turn on...they turn off. No idea how they grow coral like that.
