This is the same way I do it as well. What I also is put the corals in tub and gradually add about 1/2 cup of tank water for about 30 minutes. I then dip, rinse, and put in tank.

Some nay say it is, but I think it's worth it since corals are stressed from shipping.Sounds intense.
AEFW are simple to get rid of. I had them but have been AEFW for over a year now. My method is very simple, requires very little to any work, and is 100% guaranteed to work.I don't care who it is. Yes sbb has been pest free but it only takes one! Aefw are a nightmare from what I've read. I started dosing kz flatworm stop partly just for preventative measures. I guarantee you if Shane picked up a coral from Shane...Shane would dip it..lol. I tell everyone to dip anything they get from my tank even though I'm pest free. Another way to look at is, the more people that dip, the more people that can report back to ypu if they find something u may not know about.
For inverts like shrimp and crabs they used to say it's the proper way to do it but that was 15 years ago I started doing that. Fish and some corals I've recently read not to do it... pH and alk swings are going to happen whether you drip or don't if the difference is big enough... Right? Temperature acclimation is the most important I guess, right?Hey it may be the way to go!
Funny thing..I started reading this..knowing your a smart as too and part of me thought "cool this might be something...." hahahahaAEFW are simple to get rid of. What is the method, you ask? Let them eat so many of your colonies so that that run out of food! Who's laughing now, AEFW?!!!!
I just float them, bring to temp, dip in the water they came in, rinse in tank water and put in tank. The drip way is probably the best way to do it..I just dontFor inverts like shrimp and crabs they used to say it's the proper way to do it but that was 15 years ago I started doing that. Read up on it. For SPS I feel like I read somewhere that drip acclimation stresses them out. @SBB Corals any input?I just float them, bring to temp, dip in the water they came in, rinse in tank water and put in tank. The drip way is probably the best way to do it..I just dont
I do it for 15 mins, temp float, drip 15 to even out alk and other chemistry. Then dip and inspect, and off to the tank.hence why I asked... ive never drip acclimated a coral I just temp acclimate then dip and put in tank
plop and drop baby plop and drop. plop in dip then drop in tank.I do it for 15 mins, temp float, drip 15 to even out alk and other chemistry. Then dip and inspect, and off to the tank.
I would plop it in some tank water to get the dip off first...then plop it in the tankplop and drop baby plop and drop. plop in dip then drop in tank.
doesn't sound as good thoI would plop it in some tank water to get the dip off first...then plop it in the tank
