Potassium Chloride for acros. 1 tblspoon per gallon. Bayer can be harsh on some acros.

Interesting, I had heard the reverse, that Bayer is not harsh (but hazardous to deal with), with Potassium Chloride being very effective (and seemingly the preferred choice for acro specific pests now), not hazardous, but potentially more harsh to corals.

I had been using Bayer but trying to decide if just Coral Rx is good with SBB (I already only dip any non-acro in just that), I don't like dealing with Bayer and the waste. But frankly it feels like I should look at Potassium Chloride to ensure I am covering acro bugs!

Anyway, I really only temp acclimate prior to dipping.

I’ve started using this. Even this small one can make several batches for me.

Reef Primer! Not Reef RX. THIS is the Potassium Salts.

I use this. Make a cup or two at a time instead of gallon.

Interesting. It doesn't note anything about white/black/red bugs which is kind of the rationale for Bayer, and I thought for Potassium Chloride (as opposed to something like Coral Rx) as well, though?

i was a coralRX guy previously, but i just had too many deaths within 2 weeks of dipping.

but yes, I was debating KCL. definitely on anything from other enthusiasts or the lfs but i was really contemplating taking the (mitigated) risk on pieces only from SBB/TCK/battlecorals. this is a fresh tank with no coral atm.

I don't care who it is. Yes sbb has been pest free but it only takes one! Aefw are a nightmare from what I've read. I started dosing kz flatworm stop partly just for preventative measures. I guarantee you if Shane picked up a coral from Shane...Shane would dip it..lol. I tell everyone to dip anything they get from my tank even though I'm pest free. Another way to look at is, the more people that dip, the more people that can report back to ypu if they find something u may not know about.

You hit it on the nail there. Regardless of who the vendor is, always take precautions and dip.
