We would always reccomend dipping and inspecting each coral as it arrives. having a quratine tank is best but not always ideal.

For the pattasum chloride we use 2 tablespoons per gallon for 10 minites

Next your gonna tell me i should know my par levels too, dang. LOL.

I swear im smart person - i just use all my brain power at work.

...and i was waiting for the par wise to come out....

Par is super interesting an isn’t always 100% surfers way of making things happy. I see guys keeping zoas and acros right next to each other in par levels not considered adequate for the acro. U just might not get the coloration or PE Shane does

acropower is not good. we stopped using that a very long time ago.

and the phyto we found is not needed also. we try to do the most basic stratagy where less is more TBO

If your lights are bright enough, and you have detectable phosphates and nitrates, supplemental feeding is actually a detriment to coral growth and health.

You think this is just for acros though right? I have to feed my symphillia and acanthophyllia, the acantho will pout if it doesn't eat. Feeding will allow it to spread out all the way on the sandbed, otherwise it will pull in and throw feeders upwards in the water.

I think acans and other LPS benefit from feeding as well.

You're right, I should specify, small polyped stony corals expend more energy in capturing and inefficiently digesting captured particulates than photosynthesis of their symbiotic zooxanthellae provide for them, and it has been recently hypothesized that the two are not 'supplemental' but exclusive.
