K.I.S.S. principal is what I tank byYou're right, I should specify, small polyped stony corals expend more energy in capturing and inefficiently digesting captured particulates than photosynthesis of their symbiotic zooxanthellae provide for them, and it has been recently hypothesized that the two are not 'supplemental' but exclusive.

Package came earlier than expected. Look at this freebie. Sbb Rooster. Haha
I agree about the lps , particularly my Bowerbankis, Acans and Duncans are pigs with the chunkier frozen and my micromussa get in on it too.You think this is just for acros though right? I have to feed my symphillia and acanthophyllia, the acantho will pout if it doesn't eat. Feeding will allow it to spread out all the way on the sandbed, otherwise it will pull in and throw feeders upwards in the water.
I think acans and other LPS benefit from feeding as well.
Monday I’m gonna do some local pickup action I can’t wait eitherBox coming next Wednesday woohoo!!!
You have to....Monday I’m gonna do some local pickup action I can’t wait either
Filter socks..LR...returnCan't wait to get home! In Charlotte waiting on my last flight back home from Los Angeles. Get to finish the stand and new tank cleaning. Then moving it all inside to its permanent spot!
Should make the transfer easier. Just moving it all from one tank to the other, and it's just 10' from the old tank.
Extremely excited about getting the 90 going!
What's everyone run in their sumps? This will be the first time using a sump and setting it up, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Rubble is better than bigger rocks from what I hear. I'm slumming it with rock in there but will go with rubble when I upgrade. Personally, I wouldn't put sand in there because one I have it in my DT and 2 it would be harder to clean..but that's just me. My new sump will be able to handle a ton of it so I'll probably run a powerhead in there to help with detritus as well. I run a really simple tank with no reactors or anything so if thats your road I'm sure someone can steer you better there. My deal is to have the least failure points I can and it seems to do fine.I'm thinking I'll move one of my LR that I have in my display now, into the sump. Then just replace that rock in the display. Or should I just get new LR for the sump... I could always make a day trip down to the Keys and get some rock and sand

The way it was explained to me. When upgrading, whatever handles your bio load now will be fine in a bigger tank with the same bio load. Of course adding more rock or whatever over time can and will increase the total bio load you wish to increase to.Oh yeah, I meant the sand for the 90, not the sump. I was actually debating going bare bottom when I switch it all over. But I have a few wrasse that enjoy the sand, so will put it in.
Yeah, I'm going for as minimal as possible. I'll have a skimmer/roller depending on what I settle on. Socks for sure, I figured I'd put the 1L of seachem matrix that's in my cannister filter in the sump.
You made it out of LAX, that's a feat. They are doing construction outside, so I went through there last Sept and had to drive and park. It was a nightmare. Luckily, 95% of the time I'm flying for work it is just out of San Diego. Got to fly to some new spots last year and made it to Chicago for the first time, grabbed some Chicago dogs in the airport and they were good. Can't wait to get home! I travel monthly, but that means maybe 12 sales trip a year or more if I really want to be onsite vs. virtual, but that is nothing like your map. Raking in those free miles for personal travel. One could say I travel a little bit for work. (last few years shown)
