People do it frequently. Get lots of totes and buckets. As many heaters and circulation pumps as necessary, etc etc etc. Expect to have some losses and be happy when there's none!
oh for sure, i guess it doesn't seem too gnarly (tho i just jinxed it im sure). one good thing would be that the tank has not been running super long with the corals in it so they would probably be a bit easier to move. obviously i would need to wash the sand? the more i think about it the more i am wanting to do it, my current tanks has a LOT of scratches on the front glass, so it would be nice to have that one the garage with the coldwater stream tank and the nice one inside for the reef. and another big positive is just SO MUCH MORE room under it, i am not exaggerating over how little room there is between the bottom of the tank and the top of the sump

oh ok, right on. my only problem is that i absolutely do not have the space to run both tanks at the same time, if i were to swap them the new one will have to go exactly where the current one is sitting, so switching them entirely in one go is kind of daunting now that i think about it, seems like there is a lot of potential to crash the cycle

holy run-on sentence, batman
Hubby and I transfer and moved the 180g in plave all by ourselves. We just had 2 friends helped with carrying it to the basement. You can do it Matt

Tanks are something I do have plenty of extras lying around but that means a lot to me. I feel like this actually shouldn’t be terrible, plus I do need to redo my overflow box plumbing. Oooh maybe I could drill the tank!!!
I also have an empty 55 gal and a 20g tall
