Here's what I've done to adjust lighting on my Viparspectra lights. Painters tape on some of the white LEDs.

A better method is to dip the lenses on your whites in Spirit Dye, which will permanently stain the plastic whatever color (Blue, totally blue) you choose.

I'd be worried the tape will start to get too hot, then burn/catch fire. Have you thought about just changing the whites to blue leds. More work of course. Or maybe getting some thick blue plastic, or blue plastic tint. Something that's a little more heat resistant ?

It's just a temporary fix, I needed more par but couldn't stand the washed out look from the whites. They are overly strong.

It's not even warm to the touch actually. I only run them at 3%. I would love to swap out the LEDs but don't have the time.

forgive my ignorance, but what would you be doing by a re-diode? i know it means switching things out, but is that just to lower light intensity or something like that?

Better spectrum, and usually higher quality diode with the same specs. I also swapped out my power supplies with 220v Meanwells though. (Waterproof, signage grade).

Are there LPS corals that can handle, thrive, in 250+ PAR?

I’m thinking my Goni’s are not happy, because there’s too much light. I’ve got this one in the lowest light area of the tank (around 200 PAR) and it still will not open or show it’s true color.

Indophyllia and acans don't mind sub 200. Meat and maze brains like around 125-200

I think it just depends on the goni. This one is in around 300ish and is doing better than any of our other Gonis. The others are on the sandbed. I just took this picture, lights have been on about an hour.
