Your girl and @Kasrift girl are so cute. At least you have a helperOh God here we go again
This. I have one that is super low light. I think there is a difference in types, there was a reefbuilder article about how most bernardpora aren't actually, and that they may just be gonis. Well, Bernard are known for needing a lot less light. I have two low light gonis, rest are ok in 150 par.I think it just depends on the goni. This one is in around 300ish and is doing better than any of our other Gonis. The others are on the sandbed. I just took this picture, lights have been on about an hour.
Yes. I got most of my torches very close under my lights. Two xr15s about 8 inches above water line and torches maybe 6-8 inches below?Yep they can handle pretty strong light. Quite a few of mine are on frag racks a little over halfway up.
Mine are 18 inches above the rim to get a spread. I run my blues 100% and whites at 3%. Directly below the center of the lights at the surface it's 600, down to my first acro it's 450, most of my other Acros are 300-400.How much par you need? The blues alone will suffice for anything
14 inches is money on viparsMine are 18 inches above the rim to get a spread. I run my blues 100% and whites at 3%. Directly below the center of the lights at the surface it's 600, down to my first acro it's 450, most of my other Acros are 300-400.
Just below the sedge of the light beneath the surface is around 430. Edge of the tank is even less.
My frag racks vary but the brightest is 450 at the front edge and 310 next to the glass.
Sandbed has 100-200 and areas of shadows with less.
And the biggest thing, blues only are TOO blue, some white LEDs are definitely needed.
So I want some white but not a lot.
They do like nutrients.Maybe my problem with the Goni’s is not light, but particulates in the water for them to feed on. Tank is pretty sterile. Skimmer, UV both run 24/7 and filter socks get changed every three days.
They do like “dirtier” water. I’ve been broadcast feeding with oyster roe, plus a mix of Coral Dust, Reef Frenzy and Reef Chili several times a week for both them and Acros(2x week). Gonis are looking pretty happy overall. Here’s from this morning. By the way I don’t use a sock. I have 2 media caddies on each side of the AIO with filter balls and carbon on the left and Purigen on the right.Maybe my problem with the Goni’s is not light, but particulates in the water for them to feed on. I dose a small amount of mag every day because of all the Gonis and Torches/Spawn in particular. They do like nutrients.
You can check you magnesium too, mine dropped a bit and they were only half extended, once I brought it back up to almost 1500 the are fully extended. IDK if that affected them or not though.
Yeah I entered. If I won I was going to use it as an excuse to re-scape. Very nice lookingThe 1st and second pieces I won the 3rd I purchased for 40% off.
