Frontosa are really cool, i think a colony of them would be rad but i don't have space for a 300 gallon tank lol. my first "serious fishkeeping" foray was african cichlids, i love them but man, the aggression gets so old after awhile haha
Overstocking was the only way for me to keep aggression in check, well to spread it around. They still bred like rabbits.

same here, but after a while a hoard of similar looking cichlids got a bit old for me, plus i was relapsing super heavy at the time and was just not being responsible with my tank, i had other (absolutely awful) priorities at the time. really started getting old when one super-bully fish started killing any new fish i got, even if they went in the tank in large groups. i'd stand there and watch him murder them within seconds, dude was such a jerk

That's what I was thinking it looks like, but no idea what would make it unhappy. The Kermit the frog frogspawn right below it is happy and puffy as ever. Same with the hammers and frammer above it.

Just confused, but corals are finicky and I guess can just say, nope I'm out... Ugh
Still think your file fish is sus.

I've been keeping an eye on him, but he seems to be behaving. At night he just stays up in his little corner spot he picked out. I haven't seen him nip at anything except that one time.

And it seems my Redsea Reefmat 500 motor drive has went out. So, I get to call and do a warranty claim on that it looks like today. Seems like it should be an easy call and replacement or whatever at least.

Does anyone have a copperband. I'm thinking of taking a chance on one. From what I've read and heard, they're hard
Nope but I've looked into too. But afraid it might get bullied by my tang. Then there's the whole diet issue. Then coral nipping.

Beautiful fish if you get get a good specimen.

Yup, they're pretty fish! We were thinking about getting one for our tank to hopefully deal with the aiptasia, then rehome it after it grew to large unless we upgraded. But was to worried about them nipping corals lol.

I should say, I didn't think they nip at LPS either, just SPS I think. But who knows. All I know is I have a frogspawn with one head bailout and some of the polyps still inflated that have bailed... Pretty sure I'll be pulling out the princess peach once the lights are on. Wish I had a way to cut the bad side off. Maybe the top heads are still ok.

I feel the same. I want to get one to control aptasia, but the chance of it nipping corals puts me off

Lol...sometimes we say a lot and our friends have to go back to the only sentence that mattered. As far as where your at..perhaps a lugols dip and ypu can supergluenthe dead head to help prevent infection. The kung fu dip is the ultimate but lugols would at least be a hail mary

The berghia nudibranchs I got from Dinkins seem to be doing the trick for me. So far, I've definitely seen the Aiptasia disappear from some places it was.

AND a bit pricey and can be an expensice snacks for some shrimps and inverts
Yes, they are, we put in 18 (5 jars, but 3 had 4 in them instead of 3, win!) to hopefully jump start a good population with expecting some predatory loss. So hopefully all aiptasia will be gone and it won't be a big expensive snack for the other tank mates lol
