Freshwater fish were so much easier, yes big fish sometimes ate little fish. Cichlids would fight. But in Saltwater everything is complicated with "maybe" or just NO. It's a real gamble. LOL

Definitely. I started with African cichids and discus. but I fell in love with saltwater even with all the complications and troubles.

what kind of monsters did you keep? i've kept bichir, wolf-fish, odoe pike, and lastly ended with a group of 12 black crappie. big fish are fun but they get boring after a bit, at least to me.

I had Jaguar cichlids with Mbunas at one time, they had their nest and the others knew to stay away. I was ready to relocate them but there was never an issue.
I too had managuensis, Texas terrors, Oscar's, a few others but I forget. In a 75 I had a breeding pair of jack Dempseys

Just got my confirmation texts! Those are sooo pretty. Thank you! Once things settle down in your tanks I’d love to try to give a shot at fragging a Goni or two for you.

Frontosas are awesome and beautiful but so boring floating all day. I loved Mbunas peacocks and such. They were always active, bright and colorful, and clown loaches, always had a school of them.

Frontosa are really cool, i think a colony of them would be rad but i don't have space for a 300 gallon tank lol. my first "serious fishkeeping" foray was african cichlids, i love them but man, the aggression gets so old after awhile haha
