What does that do to the corals
I'm not sure... It's always been that way in my tank. It's supposed to be UV rather than violet so that could make a difference.

I know there's certain times corals spawn like clockwork...whether the moon is visible or not. I think it's more of a tidal thing at a certain time
It's a time and temperature thing... I studied that a lot when I got my first SBB order and Orange U spawned in my tank.

Whoa, uh, Can someone explain what spawning is in tenuis? This is the first time this newbie has heard of it.
They'll expel gametes out of every polyp that look like little white styrofoam bits. The gametes float to the top and mingle. If you have two different colonies from the same area they'll spawn at the same time, once they settle, you move your most densely colored coral with the settled polyps so they can 'borrow' the symbodinium from the existing frag.

I was kinda referring to fish spawning... but yeah coral would as well lol

I had read somewhere someone able to induce clown fish spawning with their moonlight schedule.
