Nope, that's the halide bulb reflection you are seeing. I do have reefbrite Strips but they turn off with my "photo button" for top down pictures.

Since you know so much about my tank lol I’ll take a video for you if it bothers you that bad

Friend, I know nothing of your tank or experience in the hobby. I just know what halide and led reflections look like. My sanity has been in question before though. Hey, look on the bright side. You being right (or wrong) is not contingent on my agreement. So take that for what it’s worth. Should be of some comfort

I expected them to go pretty quick. Everyone getting their stockpile while they last

Of course they ran a 15% off sale today too.
I had a dozen in my cart and then they all disappeared :crying-face:

Hamilton is out too. They said they expect more "soon" and weren't able to give any more information on if they are the only ones carrying them and if they'll get more after that. They did however say they don't plan on stopping production of their brand of bulbs.

I bulk ordered Ushio , I think I’m going to wait around for Hamilton 14ks before panicking like covid hand sanitizer days. I think I already did with the Ushio order

Anyone know what 250 bulbs can be run on m80 ballasts other than Radiums?
Any HQI bulbs, like the DE 250W bulbs, are specs to be used with M80s. Some SE 250W bulbs like Giesemann, BLV, etc..., when specs for HQI, are also to be used with M80 ballasts as well.

The magnetic ANSI M80 is designed for European high current 250W lamps such as the Radium 250W single ended, BLV 250W single ended / double ended, Giesemann single ended / double ended, Phoenix 250W double ended and Ushio 250W double ended bulbs.
Unfortunately all these bulbs are phased out / no longer produced. Some are still for sale until inventory is sold out.

Hamilton double ended 250W are M80 spec as well. Not all 250W / HQI bulbs are compatible though. Especially Chinese double ended and single ended bulbs. Which are typically rated at 2.15A. ANSI M80 bulbs are rated at 100V, 3.0A. Using 2.15A bulbs results in reduced usable lamp life and early failure on 3.0A (M80) ballasts. Some lower quality bulbs will have seal failures from the higher current as well (arc tube seal fails or even arc tube ruptures).

Well this is disappointing. I stumbled upon this as I went to BRS to place my usual yearly order for bulbs and realized they were out of stock.

I was successful in ordering 2 radium bulbs through aquacave. Hopefully it gets fulfilled. I guess these will be my last halide bulbs . If anything it buys me a few years to figure out what my next move is with regards to lighting.

I’m pretty sure Tullio at Reefbrite will continue to provide halide bulbs for the hobby and public aquariums.
