I have 2 tanks, 20 long and a 65. I wanted to maybe add my clown and firefish to my 65 but I have 3 damsels in that tank and worried they kill them both. My 20 long seems to be very peaceful with the clown, firefish and lawnmower blenny. My 65 there is alot of chasing going on. My 2 stripe damsel is constantly on the hunt for my similar damsels. And the 2 similar damsels chase each other when the 2 stripe takes a break. They really only mess with each other. I have a pj cardinal in there too. He's suppost to be peaceful but don't take crap from the damsels. What should I do??? Add my clown, firefish and blenny or not? It would be nice only having maintenance on 1 tank.

Do not add the clown, firefish, and blenny to the 65 with thse particular damsels, it will not end well for the new fish.

If you aren't too attached to the damsels I would suggest getting rid of them.

A 10g is perfect for an ocellaris.

The 40g list looks good, but clarkii's can be more aggressive than ocellaris. Also, each tank is different as far as bioload, so add slowly and test frequently.

Setting up a 20L mixed reef. Want to have tailspot blenny, pink streaked wrasse, and cherub pygmy angel. I understand the caution of the cherub with corals, but is it worse in a smaller reef?

Angels are very individualistic as far as nipping and aggression. It's always a possibility, but can't be determined for certain. Smaller tanks may contribute to nipping, as there is less space to explore, but I have seen some in small tanks not nip.

I need some advice from the mouths of experience. I have a 150 gal mostly coral tank with a 5 inch deep sand bed. lots of LPS, some SPS, mostly zoas. I have 2 percula clown, I pajama cardinal, 2 bengal cardinal, 2 fire fish, 1 green chromis, 1 blue and yellow damsel, 1 randalls goby paired with a tiger pistol shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, assorted snails, hermit crabs, nessarius snails, and 2 burrowing star fish.

I am looking for new additions, but nothing that has problems with what I already have or my corals. I have had a blue tang, hippo tang, brown tang, yellow tang, and a rabbit fish. they one day started eating corals, and tore up the whole tank before I got them all caught and or speared. so no more tangs. I had a 6 line wrasse when I had a bio cube then I found out they eat worms and pods, all of a sudden I didn't have anymore of those. I don't want that happening because I spent a lot of time seeding the tank with the existing fauna. Also, I hear sand sifting fish like certain gobies do the same thing with any fauna in the sand bed.

any ideas fellas, I know the local fish store will tell you almost any fish you ask about will be okay. they are in business to sell fish...

FYI the sand burrowing starfish also deplete microfauna in the sand.

Fish that will work with your current inhabitants and fit your criteria include; flasher and fairy wrasses, zebra dartfish, scissortail gobies, royal gramma, yellow assessor, grammistes blenny, sunburst anthias a group of dispar or randalls anthias, swallowtail angel.
