Wow sounds loke it could have been a lot worse! The weather pattern across the whole county is very wet this spring when compared to the national average.

Very cool getting together with fellow reefers. It's so nice to put a face on the posts.

Hope u get good news from the warrantee check up... roofs are expensive :(

Yesterday was quite the day.

I will do 2 separate posts.

First the good post!

Last evening I had the pleasure of meeting and hosting @dbl at my house!

He is on vacation here at Hilton Head with his full family and took some time to pay me a visit.

David turned out to be a lot nicer than what I was hearing so that was a relief!

I’m the one with hair.

Hey Mike...easy on the hair comments pal. :)

To all...pictures don't do this tank justice...it's a beautiful system and it was a pleasure getting to meet Mike in person.

Small update.

Testing over the weekend was fine.

78 degrees
1.026
Alk 7.9
NO3 10
PO4 .06

Still dosing 5 ml homemade NoPox and 10 ml alk.

Got my new UV light bulb. Cleaned everything up and went to put it all back together and busted the quartz sleeve.

[emoji58]

Another $50 to explain away.

Anyway, rotated my center piece a bit forward and am pretty happy now!

Everything looks great!
I can’t get my clown to leave her BTA. Seldom she will go exploring but when she does she keeps going back to make sure the BTA is still there.

You have a pair of wheeler goby? How does the pink spot do with them?
I don’t think my pink spot will like a wheeler in his tank.

What uv do you have? Haven’t had time to research them yet but think I want one

Hello @Crabby48

First, thanks for the hundreds of likes! LOL!

Second, I’m jealous of anyone who has clowns being hosted by a nem. UGH!

I have a fairly large pink spot and the 2 wheelers and a candy cane pistol shrimp.

They all have their personal space! The pink spot sometimes shows his attitude by just parking along side a wheeler and raising his fins, but I have never seen any aggression.

I do have a lot of rock work with caves and low ledges for them all.

I say go for it! DD has them paired up with the shrimp pretty regularly.

I have a 25 watt Aqua UV. I run it 24/7 with low flow to kill anything that goes thru it. I personally think I waited too long to change the bulb and that allowed the cyano outbreak to happen.

Just a hunch.

Also, I don’t qt. Live bacteria filled foods and UV and no disease.

Thanks for stopping by!

Got the new quartz sleeve for my UV today that I shattered cause I didn’t read the instructions. [emoji2955]

Went back together well and put the new bulb in.

Up and running with no leaks. Probably shouldn’t have said that.

Anyway my UV being down go me thinking.

I just did a round of chemiclean to rid the cyano.

The cyano started showing up at first in April. At that point my UV bulb had been running 24/7 for 14 months.

Bulb life according to the manufacturer is 12 Months.

By month 15 the cyano was exploding.

I have massive flow across the bottom and no nutrient issues.

So I’m wondering if the UV really helps with that.

All I know about UV-C bulbs is that they become majorly ineffective after 12 months and need changing and it’s very easy to forget for sure.

I have an excel spreadsheet, because I’m very efficient you know (lol no, because I forget) and I know it needs changing around the 1st of January every year, and it’s a real pain in the bottom!

Who knows about cyno Mike......

Hi folks.....can’t believe how long it’s been since an update. Work is consuming my time.

The tank is chugging along well, staying stable. No surprises!

Just adding this guy over the weekend.

Having a time with the coral beauty, foxface, and tomini tang.

He likes their favorite sleeping spots and it’s not sitting well with them.

Very nice fish! I didn’t see that coming

I didn’t see it either! I have always likes these guys but never gave it much thought until he kept following me at the LFS with puppy dog eyes and a smile [emoji4]

Here’s a pic from the LFS right after he asked me to take him home with me.

Nice addition mike.

No one is bothering him at all as he swims around the tank.

But as soon as he tucks into his little cave spot, the foxface and coral beauty get very upset. The foxface did much better last night with it, but not the coral beauty. It’s been his sleeping spot for almost a year so I get it.

In another note, the foxface has never been such a vivid yellow before!

Hope it works out because that fish is beautiful.

Thanks! It was a bit better last night with all except for the coral beauty.

Now I’m gone for 3 days. My wife will give me updates.

Hopefully good ones!

Got bit of a layover in Atlanta so I’m gonna do an update.

First, haven’t been on R2R much for a while now. Bits and pieces here and there.

I have been with Huffy for 25 years and the growth and diversification we are going through is huge.

I’m as busy as I have ever been, and I like it!

Unfortunately it means I spend less time here, which I don’t like[emoji853]

Anyway, the tank is pretty much on auto pilot.

Nitrates and phosphates bumped up a wee bit as I bumped up feeding a few weeks ago.

Still 10-15 ppm nitrates and < .1 phosphates.

Hope everyone is doing well........
