I have two MP10’s and 2 amp 40’s. I love them! Just make sure you don’t use vinegar to clean them. It will corrode the magnets. I have replaced the wet side on a couple but it not after about 5 years.
Woopsie I used a vinegar solution on my wet side for about 15 minutes.

Personally I think a gyre is way overkill in that size tank. (We’re talking about your cube correct?) Even the mp10s would have to be turned way down. I get the cordless appeal on those though. If you are considered other kinds like the Nero… I might suggest the jaebo SLW wavemaker for affordability. I had one in my evo with zero complaints.
I definitely recommend the jaebo stuff over the nero, that's what I'm considering going back to. Nothing but issues w/ the nero & MP10s will be overkill in this cube as well.... Not a fan of the AI lights either - clearly AI just isn't for me. Thought it would be easier to have them all together in one app but nah

I’ve heard stories on AI lights so I didn’t go with them. I had a chance for kne at a good price awhile back and passed it up. Glad to have my Kessil and will work on switching the 35 to one as well.

I will look at the jaebos. I’d love something without a cord in the tank honestly. Oh well lol.

I understand that completely, if 10s were a reasonable option for my cube I'd have gone with them (now that I'm thinking about it - IDK if it was an issue of 10s being too powerful or the glass being too thick for them and 40s being severe overkill). I love the 40s I have for the bigger tank.

I looked it up, it was a glass thickness issue for me, 40s would be insane overkill in this configuration because I'd still want 2 to prevent dead spots & I don't think ponies could handle them anyway :loudly-crying-face:

May want to look into one of these:
JEREPET 2100GPH Aquarium Wave Maker
JEREPET 3400GPH Aquarium Wave Maker
I've had the big one since I started my tank and really like how simple it is. Their diameter is comparable to an MP10, lower-profile in & out of the tank... just a wire in the tank though...
Got a second one on Amazon days because they went on steep discount ~ like 30% off.
They went on 25% off Black Friday when I upgraded my return pump... also a JerePet...well, actually JerePond because I wanted the downward-facing cowl & 280GPH over the JEREPET version.

I found some super fancy paints yesterday. They’re so fancy they’re not even in the states XD.

And:

This is why we starve y’all. Good quality paints spensive.

But anywho. I think ima try some marine buffer for my alk issue. Because it seems a bit more forgiving. It’ll probably cost me out the wazoo but I think if I can get things balanced, replace my RODI filters and such it’ll start to look up. We shall see. I’m have 100 promised from Hubbs for birthday cash, 40 from mother in law. I really really wanna get another betta for the 8 gallon AND now I’ve changed the paludarium plan lol. But I think I should focus on getting this going better for now. Since I’ve gotten some extra money coming monthly due to my kiddo finally paying me more than 20 bucks a day to babysit, things should start to look up.

We can hope.

I’m still going to drool and covet those paints, though. Btw go search YouTube for his art. Just because he’s amazing and I aspire to be like him when I grow up. He deserves some recognition.

Also three years ago I completed this mess. I have a love/ hate relationship with my art and this especially. I had grand ideas but they didn’t make it to canvas. I just hope the purchaser was as happy as he said he was.
