If you couldn't keep it alive Ann then no one could! Rename it death wish coral.We ended up losing that coralit closed up one day and never opened back up and slowly withered away. That one still haunts me!

Only buy corals from reputable vendors like LRO or you risk infesting your tank with pest, aptasia, bubble algae...

As someone who just started a year ago, I'd say taking it slow and having patience is the best thing you could do for your tank!

Go slow, but also have another tank or plans for another tank. One is never going to be enough.

These comments are great!! When I first started, I topped off my tank with saltwater, it wasnt until 6 months in, that I realized that salt does not evaporate and the salinity only gets higher. There was a reason my corals werent doing well hahahaha

My one piece of advice: Keep your phosphates and alkalinity in check!! IMO these two parameters affect coral health more than others.
sounds like my tank, not sure why stuff not growing now, numbers have been looking stable, cacl a little high, but havent been dosting and waiting for it to come down.We ended up losing that coral
to go slow and easy and not to rush on corals, to wait a few months and make sure you got a bag of cash also.
@Living Reef Orlando the clowns still loving the Rainbow Tip, and it been staying big and looking super good i think. One think i notice is when the other fish come near it, the big one, the female nips at them to keep them a way.
