We need to discuss long term tank operations. Like the second cycle. The way to move to a steady tank. What to do with excess growtn from the tank.

I would love to hear y'all talk about Going from acrylic to a glass aquarium the pro's and cons. I have a 120 acrylic and no matter how careful I am it still scratches my acrylic.
That's weird- I have had total luck with acrylic. ( Im in Sheboygan area)

Hey Reef2Reefers!! So we've been kicking around the idea of starting a video series where we discuss different reef topics hosted by Rev himself!

We've got some really cool ideas already brewing on this. This could be anything from interviews with industry experts, topic discussions, the SKY'S THE LIMIT! ...who knows...maybe we'll even see Rev's 400g tank in there at some point (He has a build thread he sometimes visits...) or even Leroy, the R2R mascot!

...but we're wondering...

What are some things you guys would like to see us talk about? Give us some topic ideas!

And, what should we call it?
How about videos talking to successful reefers and seeing their approach to reefing. How they started, what changed over time, mistakes they made, keys to their success and such. Everyone on R2R loves reading about people's tanks and of course the eye candy of their tanks. I haven't seen many videos of official people talking about constructing stands which would be nice too. Thanks for giving your time and energy into this.

Not sure if it’s out there or not, but maybe talk about ways people have saved money in this hobby. Everything is soooo expensive so what are some “good” shortcuts?

I’d really like to see anything and everything on seahorses. My tank is built around them specifically but I would love more ideas!

A great series name would be (911 Reef 2 reef) it should focus on reefers who are failing and about quit the hobby and you go in and bring there system back to live break down there problem or problems also do meet and greet of successful reefers also maybe do a little in-depth explaining of different product we use and setup
I like this, make-a-wish reef series. Lol

Just like Socal reef said, I would love to see what people did at first and what worked and what did not work. Also, more coral care. All I know is that corals need calcium and other trace elements, but everything is so variable. Like a more in depth care guide on the different types of corals would be nice.

I would like to see series on unique builds, I see pictures of peoples crazy things they come up with but videos are cooler. Something like that would be cool.

I’m also always intrigued by people’s sump systems for some reason....
Others may have already said these I have not read through all the posts.

Would like to discuss nutrient export methods. Which ones are easy and which ones work best. :)

I really want to see a video on daily light integral (DLI) for reefs as apposed to PAR. Ecotech did some cool experiments on this showing running your lights at high power for a short amount of time was similar to running your lights at low power for a longer amount of time. This means you could get away with simpler lighting if you just increase the duration. It also means if you want to enjoy the tank longer, you can turn down the power.

There are some great ideas on here. I do like the coral spotlight someone else suggested early on. Photography would be a video I haven't seen yet. I need some tips for the new macro lens I bought...and of course I need my talk built, delivered and wet

Here’s an idea. There are lots of different “cycle start” and various bottled bacteria for sale. We all know the nitrogen cycle but we don’t know much about the bacteria actually responsible. Given that there are so many cultures out there from various brands are some cultures better seed than others? Could you benefit from adding multiple cultures from different companies proprietary mix of live bacteria. Also does it help to dose your tank with live bacteria periodically? I know some bacteria even slowly break down nitrate. It would be great to know what companies are using in these live bacteria mixes and what each one really does. Ideally you would want to have the most potent strains and that’s no guarantee letting your tank cycle without artificially introducing bottled bacteria.

I would really love seeing a series that covers a wide variety of tanks, from super simple, small setups to the extremely complex, self dosing, self water changing, and monitored systems. Also, people who have become "obsessed" building separate buidlings for housing tanks, major house construction to house a tank. I love seeing what people are capable of when they fully immurse themselves into something.
