Week 1 update (fish installed 7/21).
Doors finally installed, which makes things look a lot more complete. Going to get a black background to hide cords in next order from BRS.Chemistry
Chemistry looks pretty stable. Nitrates not dropping as fast as hoped, but patience. Salinity still holding at 1.024, replacing evaporation with salt water to raise it to 1.025. About 7 cups / day of water is my estimate of water loss.
Fish Behavior
Shrimp #1 molted. Both are out and about in the tank for the first time today. They've been coming out for feeding, but otherwise chilling in their respective "caves". Fun to see them actually in the tank today:
Smaller clown keeps swimming in the very corner. Larger one is a little more adventurous, but not much. They are both eating well during feedings, so I guess clowns are just weirdos...
Wavemakers
Wavemakers (MP40) are up to 40% of their max....I honestly don't know if I can get them to 100% in this tank...feels like it's a lot already. Does anyone know if I can cut off the "break in" period earlier than 100% without harming them? (https://support.ecotechmarine.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020863294-VorTech-Wetside-Break-in-Procedure)I did move them both to top to create a solid disturbance in the surface for gas exchange (thanks @Lavey29 )
Next Steps
LFS is encouraging us to put in some Snails & Hermits to start a clean up crew. May do that this week.
