I think as long as you have a consistent maintenance plan, stable alkalinity, lots of light and flow and a system of around 9 months of age or more, SPS is pretty easy to keep.

The key is husbandry.

The longer you keep at it the easier it gets. I've lost thousands worth sps my first couple years getting back in. I'm pretty happy with how things have gone over the last year.

best advice i could give is if something has gone wrong its already too late for a quick fix, small adjustments to get things back in order. And always always always dip your new corals!

Not realistic to be "static" given daily consumption rate - mine "stabilizes" between 8.0 - 8.5. Ignore the slump in the graph since I ran out of reagents.

Please keep in mind that I chose between 8-9 but yours maybe different. There is no magic range here — just keep a stable range.
Ok Thanks.. This makes more sense to me. It's the range and keep it narrow.

Keep it simple
Good light, good flow, good bio filtration (live established rock), stable water parameters = success

That is all that's required

Understanding water chemistry and choosing methods, equipment, that works for the individual to keep water stable is the learning curve. Parameters do not need to stay exactly dead nuts. Swings are okay as long as they are gradual and within acceptable ranges.

Nothing good happens quick
