I have a space invader, no sunrise but it looks like my rainbow from them, just lighter maybe.
The Sunrise Pectina is very different from the Rainbow Pectinia. It doesn't have all the extra colors that the Rainbow has and the eye is more orange color. (Also they sit directly next to each other on the farm so it is not a different light/system making them color differently.)

I see. My rainbow has faded in the eyes a little. I recently moved it and it looked like the shaded eye was brighter. Am I giving it to much light? It's pretty low in the tank.

My space invader pectinia is in the lowest PAR part of my sand bed. It shifted that way inadvertently, but has taken off in growth since then so I just leave it be. Maybe they don't like too much PAR (hot spots in my sand bed hit ~200-250 PAR, it's currently in a spot getting probably 100-150 PAR).

Might move them back down.

Our Pectina Corals are getting roughly 120-160 PAR for 6 hours a day and then the ramp up and down is another 4 hours at much lower PAR.

Thank you! That's great info. Do you have any recommendations on mixing variants of pectinia in the same tank? Do they need to be separated from each other like they do with most corals?

A tank I visited from a local long-time reefer had a huge pectinia mixed with other corals. But my little one (a piece of his) has such dramatic sweepers I just keep it in the corner away from everything else:

Back from family vacay and tank isn't in too bad shape. Coworker reported that the pumps in the back were making horrible noises and spraying microbubbles everywhere, but she managed to sort it. Pumps were still a bit loud when I got in on Fri, so probably have to clean them soon. Fish protector overflow grills were also getting a bit too clogged up with vermetids and coraline--citric acid bathed those biznatches and flow's a goin' now.

Enough. Pictures!

Hey remember that pink nepthea that died and left only a couple of sprigs lying about?

The little sprigs seem to have latched to the rock below the weeping willow. Maybe some hope afterall!

The toadstool on the other hand has been bald and unhappy for a few days:

Maybe the pistol shrimp is giving it grief--looks like the sand is piled up pretty high.

The stylos are RIDICULOUS growers. I have to move them out asap and already need to cut another branch that is growing into the goldenrod anacro.

Montis and birdsnests are also growing gangbusters. Way to go All-For-Reef.

Speaking of montis. There was this "RR Mystique" monti cap I put in about 8 months ago that seemed to be dead, but I never moved it out. Huh. Pink polyps coming out again and looks like it is encrusting! Corals are amazing.

Seriously, that thing just looked like a chunky piece of coraline forever.

The carpet shrooms are getting a bit too big. Same with the rhodactis, but at least they split--there's at least 3 of them. How best to remove these guys? I'd like to leave one carpet and one red rhodactis and pass on the others.

And apparently the trochus have been getting busy. Found the first little trochus in the overflow. Put him back in the DT. Maybe there are more!
