For the record, the Tanksgiving posts say to take 2 people and follow their page but they don't actually pick anyone from Facebook or Instagram. The email entry is the only entry. No actual bonus entries, but they don't tell you.

Went on an Aiptasia hunt today. Found three patches of Aips, two I didn't know about. I skipped the F-Aiptasia and went straight for shots of boiling water directly on them. Probably killed off some other corals a bit too--green monti took it a bit on the side--but hopefully this knocked them out for good.

Here's a few top shots. Montis looking great.

And here's the little piece of birdsnest I glued back in the original colony's spot.

I just got one of those Birdsnests for $15 bucks the other day. Kind of a cool contrast to the Purple Birdsnest I already had.

Here in the big city I charge $25 dollars… But I am lazy so they have grown in to mini colonies…
I just found a new use for them though. As a mini sanctuary for my new copper band.
I have another half dozen in the frag tank.
Excuse the glass Por Favor….

Mine was maybe $10. Looks like it will be bouncing back soon enough. I'll have to keep it trimmed this time. The more immediate problem is trimming back this stylo.

In other good news, carefully keeping the octospawn fed seems to have pulled it back from the brink:

At one point it was just a skeleton with about 8 polyps visible, but just the tips of the polyps. Didn't think this guy was going to make it.

Here's the other one. Pic doesn't do it justice.

Long lost orange skirt RFA reappeared, looking worse for wear. Went under the rocks ages ago, don't even remember.

For perspective, next to the conch:

And this is what she used to look like:

In other news, big black widow is still being big. Love the spiderwebs!

This is a pretty awesome tank. Are you running a whiter spectrum or is that a filter?
I Orphek lenses for the phone camera but generally run a whiter spectrum in any case. Easier to see the colors on the fish at the expense of a little bit of pop.

Example:
RBTA on the left under current spectrum

Same RBTA under a heavy blue spectrum

Ooh I love it. My Widow is getting pretty big too. It’s become the literal centerpiece of my tank

They have "presence" don't they? And yours managed to land in a good spot! Mine is at the top of its little island mountain and only moves around in a circle at the peak. Think I'll start calling it the Mountains of Shadow.

Why not "The Widow's Peak"?

Well it more luck than anything. It had already found a nook in the rock and when I moved tanks it stayed put.
