Yup. Thursday is one of our three big deadlines for small business grants. Always Sept 5th, Jan 5th and Apr 5th, just about the worst dates you could have--school starting craziness, ruin you Xmas/NY break and most of the time Easter/spring break, too. Is what it is.Burning the midnight oil, eh?
That's good to hear. Hoping it bounces back. It was apparently retracted when it was given to my coworker from being handled, but I would have imagined it would do better by now.I think I got the same long tentacle plate from the local reefer. I opted to get the bigger size though.
I learned from past mistake when I got a nickel sized plate at a coral show, and it just didn't make it because it was too small and got blown around/buried in the sand. Good that you mounted it onto a plate, I did that too late. Yours still might make it. This is a strange plate because it shows a lot of skeleton, but still inflate.
Not looking good :-(Mine was also very retracted and showed a lot of skeleton when I picked up. I was worried as well. But it started to inflate and tentacles extended on second day. Hope yours will recover.
I haven’t been doing well on this very thing lately but in my opinion your best option is to turn out the lights as best you can and leave them.Ok, need some opinions @Slocke @Fishfreak2009 @tbrown and anyone else wrasse-savvy. @fishguy242
Not going well with the wrasses. Pintail is laying on its side and the pencil wrasse is freaking out every time I move a muscle. Keeps running into the walls/ceiling of the acclimation box (ignoring the tub of sand I put in for it).

Pintail now laying on its side, pencil still freaking out:

Would it be better to get them out of this acclimation box? Or will they end up killing themselves in an anemone? I'm worried about the pintail, but I'm also worried the pencil is going to kill himself.
They've been like this for about two hours now.
Thanks!!!
Lights out and left in dark in the acclimation box overnight?I haven’t been doing well on this very thing lately but in my opinion your best option is to turn out the lights as best you can and leave them.
Yeah. Just try and reduce stress as much as possibleLights out and left in dark in the acclimation box overnight?
That’s awful. I’m sorryPintail died. I put the pencil in the main tank and it is presumably in the sand now. Kicked up a fuss while getting it out of the acclimation box. What I should have done today is just move the pencil to the main tank and let it dive into the sand and left the pintail in the other tank to calm down, then transfer on a different day. Today has not been a good day. New plate is 90% dead, BTA is on the move, pintail down... I'm shutting down the "observation" tank and getting straight pre-QT'd-dump-em-right-in-tank fish from now on.
