If you had money for only ONE light on a budget of under $500, what would you buy?

I like that a lot how much did that guy charge you for that?
He did it for free and provided a compete list of items needed. I just ordered everything and assembled it. I think I have a little less than $500 in the materials. The member who designed it has been absent from the forum for the last few months :crying-face:

He's migrated to our local forum. Or rather, settled in. Who knows, could be back one day!

Ya he hinted that something was going on. I think some things being done here rubbed him wrong and I fully understand. I've had my feathers ruffled but I still have too much to learn and this is a far better place to learn than Facebook YouTube etc IMO

It says they were on sale so with my 10% R2R discount I got one for $169 so bonus points to you good sir. Cheaper than an Ai prime, lets see how they do! At the end of the coral results will be the ones to say something. :grinning-face:

I think you'll be happy. The app isn't the greatest but I have 10 different apps for various things accross all tanks and they all have flaws. I like mine so well I bought a spare when I set my new tank up just so I would have a back up if needed..

. I will buy more lights as I can afford it, this I didnt anticipate happening unfort. My main light looked dull noticed corals not open lately, and then my backup failed lol. These have a better wattage than the noops. Forgive my ignorance but does higher wattage mean better? I do like being able to control the settings via app. I would like to buy a light the will also help me for future growth.

Spectrum, spread, wattage, longer warranty, made by a guy in the states so support and repairs without dealing with a company overseas should anything happen.

The noops are good for the price though. Reefi is also amazing for the price. Different price points for different things.

I didn't pry. But coincidentally he's helping me design my new mount.
Light Fixture Rev 3-1.jpg

Unfortunately, he had a tank crash recently, kind of literally. His 30" tall rock strucure came down. Now he's piercing together the remnants. I'm getting some softies and easy SPS ready for him to help with restocking.

Used radeon. Lights and app are killer
Noopsyche spank gen4 xr15s in a par test. I have 3 radions sitting on the shelf because mobius randomly changes date and time on it own with no fix in site since they won't acknowledge the problem. Lights on full power at 3 am no thanks.

This totally slipped my mind but you can also give an A8SE a try. Big time power and still fits your budget.

Yes I’ve gotten better growth and less algae but can’t say it was definitively the light change. But viparspectra is easier to setup and no fiddling around with settings.
