Nice order brian... gonna use similar placements like before?
Yes, SPS Island will become Montipora Island. The Acropora and such that mostly seem deadish will be left in place should any resume signs of life. A couple show some possibility. The Montipora will be placed around the “graveyard” with consideration to the possible recovery of the old specimens.

Great choices of Monti Brian! Your patience and regular maintenance is clearly paying off!

Not sure on all their growth patterns but Ive found my encrusting monti’s will grow over just about anything. Even the skeletons of prior pieces which gave the new piece an interesting growth pattern. My sunset has grown over a couple of acro skeletons which looks kinda cool.

Thanks! Yeah, that makes it kind of win win.

That's a lot of planning. My plan is to have no plan

Montipora is banned completely from my new tank for this exact reason, it grows over everything ‘mummifying’ other corals as it goes. I just find it so invasive

When I started out I fragged it all over the place and of course now it’s growing and spreading

Mind, at least it shows I have a healthy tank! Lol

I realize it will require endless trimming one day, but I really love them. Maybe I will sell the colonies, keep small frags and start over with a new flow pattern to see what happens. Frag and flow sculpting.

Its actually very difficult to trim, and it sorts of 'creeps' around on the rock and then whatever it touches it slowly engulfs it.

Placement may help though, maybe on a moveable rock so you can move it around if you need to. But if you like it, it doesnt matter.

I have it isolated in my newer setup on a magnetic frag rock. Its essentially covered and will be moving onto the rear glass in short order. It killed at least a couple of acro frags up there before I relented and just let it have the rock and everything on it.

Yes. That left side is two rocks, so the smaller top piece, where they will be placed, could come out if it became unwieldy.

I wish I could send you some frags, did these about 10 minutes ago, accidents from a couple of days ago, there are more, I need to find them! ;)

I wish too. I wish you lived down the street with the pub between.

Montipora Blues.

That reminds me, I brought my guitar and trombone here from the house. Which would my neighbors prefer on an early holiday morning?

;Hilarious

I like the red one. :p
Me too! As I said, cool colors. I have no red fish anymore though and some of the other corals have some red. Should provide decent contrast amidst the other corals some day.
