Have those been planted a long time? That's more of a vintage variety.
There were two growing on the road side of a utility pole. They have been there at least 30 years. The white and blue ones. We added another one on the lawn side of the utility pole about 10 years ago and it has grown to be beautiful with the deep purple color. We have some amazing nurseries around us. I was just at the house today. I will be back Friday and will try to get a nice picture of all of them. My second favorite part of the landscape. The bamboo forest is the first only because 30 years ago in college my close friends and I developed a spiritual connection with a large bamboo forest in Long Island.

Yes. Lot's of flowers have been bred to have bigger or more colorful blooms. A lot of them only vaguely resemble the older varieties.

Well that's just a bummer, why do we always have to mess with things to make them "Better"

You are a wealth of information on many topics. BTW, the plants in my apartment are thriving too. :)

Check out this Scolymia. It is on BlueZoo’s Collector’s Choice right now. It is almost black and white.

No, I am not buying it. Just sharing because it looks cool and unusual to me.

You like the stripes, don't you?
I never really thought about it, but yes I really do. I just love something that would be otherwise plain, but has a simple splash of color through it.

I may have seen some running around. It was kind of a sanctuary really. A secret path led to a clearing deep in the bamboo. It was small enough that it was ceilinged in bamboo and carpeted in fallen leaves. At night the sun blocking ceiling still allowed for glimpses of stars. In the surrounding area the bamboo grew so dense that one could simply lean a little and be supported comfortably. You could fashion your body in all sorts of funny ways and actually feel relaxed. At night it became like natural sensory deprivation with the stars above.

I have written long pages about this subject. I discovered clear evidence out there that we are all one consciousness. All forms of life tap in. Just my personal experience.

One of my blue legs doing what they do. His buddy to the right is probably cheering him on with claw clicks. I love my hermits, they do a lot of good things for the tank, but they are jerks.

Caveman,
Hope you guys are having a happy Labor Day weekend!!
Thanks, Freddie! You too! We are trying to decide, outside for a walk along the Hudson River or inside for a Shark! exhibit at the Bruce Museum. I am leaning toward the outside, but then again, there is a great LFS right by the Bruce Museum. May have to flip.
