How many sea lions can you keep in a tank at one time?

Not talking any nano tank, here. If we consider a large ~3,000 gal cylinder tank, how many do you think could comfortably be kept at once?

By my empirically determined estimates, I'd say about 12 Zalophus californianus California sea lions.

I would caution, however, mixing species of sea lions in the same tank, as there may be aggression. If doing so, I strongly recommend using an acclimation box.

Grew up in SF- have since moved across the country but going to watch the sea lions at Pier 39 is the thing I miss the most!
