I have 3 biota YT’s in a 700g and 5 wild caught in an 800. After 1 year i dare anyone to tell the difference,

Dare is strong but I feel your vibe. When you have a chance could you take some photos or point to a link? Not a challenge card but rather helpful information to those that may be on the fence as it relates to purchasing.

You’ll have to take my word for it until after summer as my tanks and.tangs are in florida and I’m away for the summer……scorching in Miami!

Eh, prices have been set in stone.

The difference is you'll get large vibrant yellow tangs instead of....
unfortunately i think this might be the truth
if people are paying these prices now imo
i think collectors/ distributors will continue at this price because they know people are paying :/
hopefully aquaculturing becomes easier and makes these guys more affordable at some point

For the Big island of Hawaii there’s only 8 species approved for take. For the island of Oahu, they have separate set of fish they’re working to get approved, many of which are ones you mentioned
@Kona Diver any idea what the Oahu list looks like that there trying to get approved?

As stated, its in the right direction. Just hang on for the facts to be posted in lieu of the many rumors and should be in the next two weeks. Also keep in mind should this be ruled in favor of collection for export, it will take weeks and even a few months before we see Hawaii Species showing up at Distibution facilities and LFS.
Im more curious as to what the NEW price structure for several fish will be. I think many will try to compare with previous retail pricing which will be inflated

Until the announcement - it's all speculation IMHO. Probably just wait until the announcement - no matter who seems to know or not know.
