I'm considering putting a couple of screws in the back to hang the power strips.
Any chance you'd rely on the command strips instead of drilling into that beautiful stand?!

I'm reluctant to trust those honestly, but i put several of them on my various devices and they're holding everything up great. I got my tank and stand used, but I still didn't want to drill into it.

I need to figure out an ATO chamber shelf that'll be accessible to refill the container easily.
Not sure how much space you have, but I ended up doing this for mine. Realistically, I could have gone with the 2.5gal, which I still may do. That would leave me a lot more room for your point below.

I need to figure out a dosing pump tray that will slide in and out for programming changes as necessary but will be out of the way for the most part.
This is what I need to figure out. I want to have my ATO reservoir, dosing bottles, and dosing pump all in this part of my stand. I was thinking about some sort of way to easily pull it out. The 5gal tank is nice because I don't have to refill it often. But like I said before, I'd prefer a smaller tank since I'm constantly looking at this tank. It would take me 1 minute to refill it.

My BIL took my .177, never got it back, the .22 is more fun though.

I've always been amazed at the caliber and knockdown power of those PCP rifles.
Do you still have a decent relationship with him? Get it back. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I added some sand, likely need a little more. Maybe a 20 pound bag.

I also cut in the Union in the return line, now I just have to find the fitting to go from 1/2" slip to tubing. I'm pretty sure I have a couple lying around.

I had to use Velcro strips at work for the power strip. The glue doesn't really seem to stay stuck.

I was thinking about a smaller sliding tray under the ATO reservoir. If I went with the pump and didn't raise the reservoir I'd have to get a different ATO switch. Right now, it opens and closes but it's actually a repurposed switch. It's meant to turn on and fill the reservoir and then turn off. It won't turn back on on it's own so I have mine on a timer right now. I do have a small pump that could work for those purposes I suppose, I'd just need to rig it up and test it.

If I did that, I could always do the doser and dosing bottles on the door. I'd put the ATO reservoir on a sliding tray, so I'd have to attach the sliders to the base.

So much to consider.

I do, actually worked with him for years before I met my wife. With everything going on...:face-with-rolling-eyes:
That's why I was asking. I know a guy Whose sister married his best friend. After the divorce, he doesn't talk to his sister but still hangs out with his ex-MIL and ex-BIL. If you had one of those relationships...

Curious, did you run into any issues with the plumbing on this?

Did you make any modifications?
Yeah I ran into a few plumbing. But I decided to use the plumbing and see how it goes this round. And later most likely will re do it with colored plumbing for the heck of it. But it was a little tight to get it on the first time.
I did add a bh union on the return line which then I had to add another fitting on the return line after when I realized the return pump for Sicce is 3/4 or 1 and the tube and piping is 1/2.

Sounds good! I let ESHOPPS know they should have a union on top and bottom of the drain tubing and a union on the return pipe as well. My biggest concern, how do you remove the plumbing if you ever move the tank?

Answer: cut it out and replace it. All of it.

I recommended making the plumbing removable from the tank instead of everything being glued in place.

My Rio + pump I'm using is 1/2" so now I just need a plastic hose clamp or a 1/2" slip to 1/2" barbed fitting. It'll likely be fine without the clamp but at 800 GPH, I don't want to risk that tubing popping off the pump and water shooting everywhere.

We got some salt mixed last night and got another batch going right now.

Today's agenda after the co-op is going to be:
  • Get a 1/2" union for the return line
  • Plumb the return pump
  • Start more saltwater
  • Order sand - I'm considering waiting on this until the January Supporter Giveaway ends in case I win LiveAquaria GC?
  • Maybe rearrange rockwork some
I'm thinking about starting to take some of the rock out of the 125 but with the Aiptasia in there I'd almost rather take a rock out, dry it for a day or two, then add it. I know I'll have die off and decay but that'll just cause ammonia in the tank to help jumpstart bacteria.

Question for anyone that might know:
  • If I let the rock dry out for a week or two and any Aiptasia dies, will the dead parts regenerate into live Aiptasia?
  • Would it be better to put the rock in a container and baste it with boiling water and then dry I for a couple of days to ensure death and destruction of any Aiptasia?
So... ive had fortune on killing aips by feeding them kalk. Smothering them doesnt work nearly as well. I've never boiled or dried out aiptasia. I only ever killed 5 and manually removed 2 or 3 from glass.

Could you use a pull out tray like for cabinets? Like for pots and pans or baking stuff?

Yeah or get everything plumbed and realize there’s a drip from the permanent piping. And limited space to get back under there lol. But I figured on the plumbing let’s just see how it goes and try this out, as worst case switch all the plumbing out for another style later on.

Yeah should be fine even with out a clamp if it’s a tight fit, but better to be safe add that clip!

When you plumbed it did you have any problems or leaks from the return pipe? I can’t seem to get it tight enough it seems?

The return seems to have a small drip, yes. But I only hand tightened it. Both drain lines are dry. I might try using my bear hands to tighten it up a hint more. I think it's slightly off...

Yeah I took some pliers and was able to actually tighten it a lot more as I think it got lose pretty easily when I bumped it doing the return line.
