Today's agenda:
  • Get a 1/2" union for the return line - DONE
  • Plumb the return pump
  • Start more saltwater - DONE but need more
  • Order sand - I'm considering waiting on this until the January Supporter Giveaway ends in case I win LiveAquaria GC? - My buddy texted me to come pick up a half bag of AragAlive
  • Maybe rearrange rockwork some - STARTED
I got the union purchased and will either plumb it up tonight when I get home or tomorrow morning - I'm going to shoot for tonight.

My buddy texted me because he bought a 3 gallon AIO and a 20 pound bag of sand... He said he's just going to toss the other 15 or so pounds of I don't want it. I said I'll pick it up tonight!

I started rearranging the rock work. Looks much more open but I still have more to do.

I think with his bag plus the 15-20 pounds of old, dry sand I'll likely need another 2 bags.

Don't forget the silicone grease!

Just saying, if you ever have to undo one of these, that silicone grease on the threads will save a headache later on.

Wanted to see if you have any pictures of the right side of the tank stand? And what you are deciding to do with the electrical and any other controllers etc how you are going to have them on that side. I can’t decide on mine.
I'll take some pictures later. I don't have any controllers but I'm still planning some of those things.

I want an ATO so I have to figure out that. I'm going to have a doser and I'm trying to figure out if I'm attaching it to the door or inside above the sump on a sliding.drawer/tray of some sort.

Yeah still trying to decide on controller and ato as well. But 3d printed some power block holders for the lights and return Which helped some.

Nice! I'm going to be running 2 Noopsyche K7 V3s over mine. My only controller is an Inkbird heater controller, remote for the lights, and the two power strips (with smart plugs). I printed a hanger for the Noopsyche remote and Inkbird controller for the 125 stand but it won't work for this one. I'm considering putting a couple of screws in the back to hang the power strips.

I have a single one above my 40, I thought I might need 2 but I'm actually impressed with the spread it provides. I will probably stick to 1 and stock accordingly.

1 would likely be enough but with a 24" spread I'd prefer 2. I currently have 3 over the 125.

So..... What ya saying? You taking a vacay to Florida in a few months? Gotta get some new corals for ya tank? :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: Does your wife know? What does she have to say?

Honestly good luck! It would be a fitting win for your new tank!
I'd love to win one of the other prizes like the Hydros or Neptune system. Get some automated testing and monitoring for the tank. As much as id love a trip to Florida and that shopping spree, corals is not what I need.

Curious, did you run into any issues with the plumbing on this?

Did you make any modifications?

You could ask how much extra it is to take your wife. Leave the kids at home. Mini Florida vacation, just the 2 of you. Could earn you some SERIOUS Petco points.

Oh I would take my wife. Maybe I'd let her fly and I'd drive though? We'd get a mini mini vacation before the mini vacation? :face-with-tears-of-joy: I'd probably end up taking (or buying another) the Benjamin air rifle for some iguana hunting while I was ther! Think I could spend part of the shopping spree on that? :thinking-face:

Oh yeah, @SFBB-ON - current under-tank situation:
IMG_20240203_090031805.jpg

The tank isn't fully operational yet - still filling and adjust the water and rock scape as I go.

The power strips will likely be mounted on the back of the stand.

I'll redesign a controller hanger for the lights and Inkbird heater controller and likely mount that on the inside of door on the sump side or I'll put the Inkbird just inside the door on the center bracing/divider above the sump and print a controller bracket just for the Inkbird remote on the right side door - probably option 2 is how I'll go.

I need to figure out an ATO chamber shelf that'll be accessible to refill the container easily.

I need to figure out a dosing pump tray that will slide in and out for programming changes as necessary but will be out of the way for the most part.

The ATO will probably be outside the stand unfortunately - I use a gravity ATO so it has to be above the sump level. Unless I win that Red Sea stuff from TSA. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I have a .177 Benjamin break barrel. I don't remember which model. It's pretty fun and fairly accurate out to about 50 yards.

My BIL took my .177, never got it back, the .22 is more fun though.

I've always been amazed at the caliber and knockdown power of those PCP rifles.
