First inhabitants: I added two Trochus from the 125. One already climbed out and over so I pushed it back in. They may not last long...

Started printing a dosing tube holder. Kinda hairy but looks like a decent print start.
Also, getting ready to head out to one of my LFS for a small CUC now that we have junk starting to grow in the tank. The two Trochus are a good start but I'm going to grab a couple of hermit crabs and some ceriths for now. I might end up with a margarita snail or two and maybe nerites. We'll see.
GLOWTrying to decide... My wife wants me to do egg crate lid on this one so I'm probably going to print clips for the glass. Do I do neon green for the glow or do I do white or frosted to make them more invisible? I was thinking green for the back, white for the sides, and as clear as possible for the fronts?
I saw that and already have an idea in mind, yes.Yess, looking goooodd.
Get ready to start designing a shade for the Avast feeder (foreshadowing)...
I too run one in the DT.. Their cannonball needs more air flow to prevent mold IMHO. Air flow vs light emittance is the mission should you choose to accept it.
The Cannonball
The Cannonball is a 3D printed cover for The Plank. It helps to prevent nuisance algae from growing inside the tube due to overhead lighting. It also reduces salt spray from coating Reef Jerky at the end of the barrel. InstallationSimply rest the Cannonball on the top of the mounting...www.avastmarine.com
I was considering a square easy design. It won't look as "clean" but it'll be helpful.I too run one in the DT.. Their cannonball needs more air flow to prevent mold IMHO. Air flow vs light emittance is the mission should you choose to accept it.

can you imagine not having a printer now?I forgot though, next design is going to be a cover - egg crate to light bracket - to help cover the gaps some. I almost lost the Starry Blenny through the gap there previously and I'm pretty sure that's where the Garnoti and Diamond Goby both went through.
I'm also going to print another feeding port for the other auto feeder and I had to redesign the lid clips a little bit last night - they needed to be a little skinnier. I'll print one later today and make sure it's still strong enough to hold the lid without breaking.
$375 later in library prints...can you imagine not having a printer now?
