Official Entry:

Q: What has been the single best thing you've done to help boost coral growth in your tank?

A: Gone slow. Add limited quantities at a time, light changes are infrequent, small and incremental, no knee jerk reactions to “off parameters” - bring the system back around slowly.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you handle coral fragging in your tank? Are you a frequent fragger? Occasional fragger? Or only when you have to prune?

I have yet to frag anything, but my Birdsnest looks like it might need pruning soon as the growth up top is blocking out light from the lower half of the coral. Any tips? Can I just use clippers?

I dose All for Reef, Alk and Ca daily . All for reef, Ca and Alk are done by doser. I test every other day. I dose by hand Korallen Zuucht Coral Booster, Coral Snow, Flatworm Stop and AcroGlow

I think my approach for dosing Ca and Alk will be All for Reef.

The best thing I’ve done for coral growth is stop tinkering so much and enjoy my tank and ride the waves. If 1 coral is doing poorly and 30 are doing well, I

I use all for reef, added into freshwater top off. I add this once weekly. It has been successful but I do get swings and occasionally have alk that drops lower than I like. Years ago I used dosing pumps which works but I don’t want to set them up again and deal with two part.

AFR has been easier but not quite as precise, mostly because I am dosing weekly instead of daily.

I am purchasing an automated alkalinity tester/doser to keep this as hands free as possible. I do need something to maintain calcium stability and would love to try a ca reactor

I also dose manganese daily, I use moonshiners. I have noticed improvement in my gonis since I started manganese

Bonus 2: Would love to see better growth across the tank. But I do love my gonis!
